It was a really nice stay. We arrived very early (at 4:50 am) and were able to leave our luggage at the hostel around 9:30 after we called and checked with them, that was really nice, so we could enjoy the island before checking in, everything worked out smoothly. The room was really nice, in addition to the beds, it had two armchairs, which was really nice, there was also enough space everywhere and everything was clean and worked. The location was great, I mean, on the island nothing is too far, but it was around 15 minutes from the ferry port, five minutes from the city center with shops and restaurants, and like 7 minutes to the beach and seaside, which was very convenient.

Extremely spacious and centrally located room. Place was super clean, basic toiletries were provided, bed wasn't super comfortable but was plenty good enough for a night's rest. Blackout curtains and a small fridge in the room were both extra bonuses!

Only downside was that the walls were quite thin and you could hear your neighbours very easily. Unfortunately I stayed the night after they stopped serving breakfast for the season so didn't get to try that.

This is one of those hotels that offer really a great value when you take into account the amount you have payed and what you have received. It couldn't be more centrally located than it is. It is within the walking distance from the ferry terminal and if you want to take local buses it is just a stone's throw away from GE-huset bus stop that is used by all the bus lines on the island. My room had convenient private entrance and it was quite large allowing a good night sleep. Also, the property is reasonably priced in, usually, quite expensive Mariehamn area.

I encountered two negative details. The room is equipped with unusually low standing pendant ceiling light that is quite inconvenient because if you are a taller person you will hit it with a head from time to time. Also, the breakfast was below standards without scrambled eggs, for example.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Esplanad as a family group (1 adult and 2 adolescent children). Great location in the centre of Mariehamn and useful balcony for warm evenings. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok. This is a no-frills hotel with facilities to match, but it was fine for our stay.

Quiet room. Room a decent size for two people. Large enough we were not tripping over one another. Fridge in room. Easy to walk to from the ferry. Located close to the main part of town. Grocery store a block away. Decent breakfast. Able to store luggage at front desk.

Beds too soft. No lift. Steps to main entrance with no handrails. Hard to get in and out of main door to hotel with luggage because of raised areas on two entrance doors you have to go through.

Great location, lovely staff and the hotel has been totally rebuilt it was in first class condition. They must update their homeside Perfect for us as we were travelling to Åland for a dog show and the location is perfect with lots of areas to walk our dogs and restaurants were local

Breakfast was a disaster. The juice tasted like water, The bacon and sausages were swimming in fat. and with the selection you couldnt put a decent breakfast onto your plate.

We had two rooms facing the hotel interior courtyard, street level. These were dream rooms for persons arriving on the island. The rooms were quiet, clean and simple: nothing too much, but everything essential. Practicality in Åland manner as it's best. Breakfast was good. We fell asleep to the "spring concert" of sea gulls.

The location is superb, it's the very heart of the town. The room was quiet enough and the breakfast was simple but good. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

They should work on cleaning more, also the Wi-Fi was exceptionally weak, only my PC could work normally with it. The price is high enough, but you are paying for the location.

Location is perfect. 5 mins walk to the town centre and 10 mins walk from the ferry terminal.

Breakfast is served in Summer only. Walls are a bit thin, and the single beds are very, very narrow

Great location close to the centre and main attractions. The room was simple but with all necessary features. Good value for money.
