100% recommend this place for a beautiful spacious experience of the Shark Bay Area! The House is on a corner right on the edge of Denham overlooking the national park and towards the ocean. They're renting out three spaces, of which I stayed in the yellow room on the top floor. It had everything you could possibly need for a few day's stay (I'd have gladly stayed longer!) and then some. The room itself is comfortable, spacious and clean and was very quiet after sunset. There are a fridge, kettle and toaster in the room as well as the kitchen cutlery etc, and then I shared an outside kitchen (VERY complete incl. dishwasher, microwave and bbq!) with the other room on the top floor. The breakfast was great, with a daily choice of many different things that could be part of a breakfast. What really makes this stay extra special were the sunsets! The house has a spectacular view, and the owners, Kerrie and Phil, have maximized the lay-out for you to experience that as much as possible with a comfy couch, a well placed jacuzzi and a large dining table. Around dusk the local wildlife comes by and you'll get to know a few of the regular characters during your stay :). I had a wonderful stay and will remember this special place for a long time. The quiet views of the desert, complete with nightly visits of kangaroos and emus, were the perfect way to wake up in the morning or relax after a day of activity. Our hosts provided us with a great breakfast for us to prepare at the very useful kitchen on the deck outside our room. We also were able to make good use of the barbeque facilities for evening meals. My wife and I spent 5 nights here and could not have asked for a better place to enjoy Denham and Frances Peron National Park.

Gorgeous property with first class hosts. Location was perfect with views across the national park and away from any noise or disturbance. Rooms were clean, well furnished, spacious and extremely comfortable. Unique concept where your high quality breakfast is delivered each day and you cook at your leisure on the BBQ outside the room. Phil and Kerrie are wonderful hosts, there if you need them, and discreet if you don’t. The evening encounter with the kangaroos is just magical. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Leaving

The location was great, just outside of the township of Denham but with a glorious view of sunset across the nearby beach. Just 20 minutes from Monkey Mia and quick access to local attractions. The yellow room on the first floor had a spa right outside the door, outdoor kitchen, balcony and table and chairs. The cook your own breakfast is a great idea as you can prepare food, including lunch and dinner at your leisure when required. The food provided was excellent and there were many choices. Kerry and Phil are wonderful hosts and very helpful and friendly. This is a great place to stay. We should have stayed a bit longer. Definitely a highlight of our WA tour.

We loved staying at On the Deck@Shark Bay. Phil and Kerrie are amazing hosts - they were so welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay so perfect! The accommodation has a great location - so lovely to see the roos every day coming for their evening snacks. It was so easy to walk into town which we really loved as we enjoy a bit of exercise every day. We loved the idea of ordering breakfast provisions the day before and having the flexibility to prepare them whenever we wanted - the options on offer were extremely extensive and generous. Phil went out of his way to help us plan our excursions and offer advice about local restaurants - nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. Phil and Kerrie are such lovely genuine people - thank you so much for making our trip to Shark Bay so wonderful. We highly recommend On the Deck@Shark Bay.

Nothing - it was great in every way!

This is an exceptional B&B and is result of the design, layout and facilities in the place but mostly down to Phil and Kerrie the hosts. We stayed here in 2019 and had such a great time that we said if we're ever back in WA we must stay at Phil and Kerrie's place - we had to wait four years... What makes an exceptional B&B experience is usually down to the hosts, and this place is top notch... Phil was a mine of information on the wildlife, things to do around Shark Bay and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this place and Denham is a much better place to stay rather than Monkey Mia resort (25 mins away) as there are more eating, sightseeing and places to go... the Visitor Centre museum with 3D film on the sinking of the HMAS Sydney is well worth a visit. We stayed 3 nights.... just wish it was longer.

Absolutely loved staying at On The Deck. Phil and Kerrie are wonderful hosts who make this feel like a personable homestay instead of an anonymous few nights in a room. They shared lots of information about the local area, animals and plants. From the deck you see plenty of kangaroos coming out towards sundown, and we even spotted some emus in the morning! We were in the yellow room upstairs, with the kitchen and jacuzzi right next to us. The bed and pillows were beyond comfortable and everything cleaned to a tee. This was by far the most luxurious accommodation of our trip on the West Coast. I think the breakfast is highly undersold - we got an entire sheet to fill out for our breakfast items. We received a basket full of bread, butter, honey, jam, eggs, granola, beans, sausage and juice. Milk was already provided in the room's fridge. At night we saw the milky way from the jacuzzi, during the day we had a full view of Francois Peron National Park. Do yourself a favour and stay here, you will not regret it.

We loved the location right at the national park. We saw kangaroos every day as they came in to get some water and carrots from the owners. Phil and Kerrie and exceptionally nice people and are very helpful. The room was beautiful with a great view. Cooking our own brekkie was a great way of experiencing the deck, the view and make your own breakfast in your own way. We loved it! We would absolutely recommend this place. We will be back! Thank you Phil and Kerrie!

The house is new, modern and extremely comfortable. The location is great because it’s an easy 5 minute walk to the main drag of Denham. We loved watching the kangaroos come to the property everyday for dinner. Phil and Kerry were wonderful hosts. They offered a lot of good information on what to visit and interesting info on Aussie customs. We really enjoyed being on the deck with them, having a drink and watching the colors come up after the sun went down.

Our hosts could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The slightly unusual "cook your own" breakfast arrangements turned out to have been well thought through and eminently suitable to the circumstances of Denham where many of the trips, for instance to Monkey Mia, require you to be up and away early in the morning. Drinks on the deck in the evenings were a particularly enjoyable feature which included feeding the local kangaroos and emus!
