The first visual was a little off putting but once there it was just fun

Great host so helpful and accommodating. Lovely guard dog, super friendly. Beds very comfortable

The place just needs some TLC. Lots of little things that require attention but the place functions okay

Really clean room, fluffy towels, comfy bed and a great shower. Brook offered me a place to park my motorbike inside the courtyard because it is more secure and then made me a delicious vegetarian pizza in the on-site cafe. Such a warm welcome.

Don’t let the outside put you off.

I had made a mistake and booked for the following month. Thank goodness someone else had left a day early as it had been fully booked otherwise. And after checking the cleaning had been completed, I was directed to my room. Very friendly staff who gave pointers for things to do in Derby over the weekend.

The staff was amazing made sure I was fine the minute I walked into the mud crab hotel offered me the the best room without no extra fees will recommend to stay there agian

I love everything

Don't be put off by appearances. May not have been flashy but very comfortable within the available space. Provided with a jug of fresh milk and water (as well as usual coffee making supplies and facilities) which is welcoming after a long trip. Beds very comfy. A lot of value packed into budget accommodation.

Perhaps security concerns for car in open to street car park but there was no problem. There is a CCTV in operation and owner intends putting fence up.

Handy part of Derby to stay, particularly good if you have a bike, as nice ride down to the wharf and along the paths to see some great sculptures! Felt safe at the motel. Good café, hotel and restaurant nearby.

It was fairly basic but the service, cleanliness, comfort was great. The owner and his offsider were extremely helpful and ready to deal with any issue we had. He offered to cook breakfast for us and was a great source of knowledge on the surrounding sights to see and do. We felt safe in a town that has its issues. We would return if we were in the area.

Great motel to stay at the night before my Horizontal Falls adventure ... they even looked after my car and luggage while at the falls ... great service all round.
