Beautiful location, the beachfront was a lovely setting. The pool was really nice and we had access to paddle boards ( the sea is very calm in the morning), kayaks and bikes. We were given a free drink on arrival which was a nice touch. The room had great facilities and was comfortable and spacious. The hotel dog and cat were so cute and friendly. Great cocktails at the bistro.

The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, springy, and loud whenever you moved. We felt that the hotel was a little too expensive for what it was offering. The staff were efficient and responsive, but not always very friendly. We felt a bit as though we were putting them out when we asked for anything.

Breakfast was good. There were many good choices and portions were generous. The owners are considering an included continental breakfast which would even be better!The owners were very accommodating and eager to address and resolve any concerns. They were extremely generous and fair in doing such. You can’t ask for better than that! We would love to return!

It would be great to be offered an included breakfast . The owners are considering such. Also, it would be great to have a shuttle service into Placencia Village. A shared shuttle from Belize City airport might reduce the cost per person. That would be helpful!!

The Maya Beach Hotel is located in Maya Beach, a beautiful area on the Placencia peninsula. Our room was right on the beach where we could sit on the patio with our complimentary drinks and watch the palm trees sway in the wind. It is next to the Maya Beach Bistro which outstanding and has won awards for its food. From there it’s an easy drive to Placencia town where we got a snorkeling excursion to Silke Caye. We also rented a kayak there. The hotel offers kayaks but you launch directly into the often windy Caribbean. Launching from the bay side in Placencia made more sea to us. In any case, the Maya Beach Hotel is a great choice for exploring the peninsula.

Beachfront. Woke up and walked into the beautiful Caribbean blue. Large lush and comfortable king bed. Hot shower. Kayaks and paddle boards available for use. Delicious food at the restaurant. Overall, a 9.8/10 for us! This will now become our first priority to book whenever we return to Placencia!

Restaurant staff was a bit rude on one occasion. It was at the end of what may have been a long day, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. This issue was when I ordered some coconut shrimp. The shrimp came out burnt to a crisp and tasted bitter. I indicated to her that it was burnt beyond any form of edible tolerance. She looked at me in astonishment and asked, "isn't that how you like it?" I politely responded with a "no" and asked her to please have the kitchen re-make it. She then snapped out of the hostility and took it away. The issue was resolved when she came back with a fresh batch that were better cooked.

Very nice hotel, clean and with good services. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, everything we had was really well made - tasty, fresh and flavourful. The beach was beautiful and photogenic. The hotel also has hugely helpful and responsive staff who reacted very quickly to e-mails and helped us book wonderful tours. We had great time and enjoyed our stay very much.

Swimming wasn't allowed in the sea because of the threat of stingrays. Also, paying the bill on our last day took us about 40 minutes - somehow it was a very complicated and unexplainably long process. Other than that our stay was really lovely, I recommend this place highly and I would be very happy to return one day.

The hotel was right on the beach and it was gorgeous. It also had 2 swimming pools. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good, but slightly expensive. There was a large, modern refrigerator in the room. I liked the location so much that I stayed an additional 2 days.

The curtains in my room did not completely cover the windows. Anyone at the pool outside could have looked into my room. Although there was a stove in the room, it was not connected. There was not a microwave. There were no grocery stores nearby. (A taxi to Placencia nearest grocery cost USD $20.)

The location on the beach. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room had everything. It had coffee, refrigerator and utensils for preparing full meals. But the restaurant was so good, you probably wouldn’t want to. The bed was very comfortable with luxury bedding. Our unit opened up to the beach and the area was raked and very tidy. They have a variety of studio, two, three bedroom units that would accommodate families. I would highly recommend Maya Beach Resort

It’s far from the city center and taxi rides can add up.

The view from my room was spectacular, offering a stunning sight of the beach right outside. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing cocktail, which was a delightful touch. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

While the ambiance at the restaurant was pleasant, the meal did not offer good value. The portions were very small, with the main dish resembling an appetizer and sides costing extra. Additionally, the taste was quite bland.

Our room was lovely! Right on beach with a small deck. Loved hearing the waves at night. The beach was well maintained, but unfortunately not a beach to swim at. the dock with chairs and hammocks was nice. What really made our stay so wonderful was the staff. They were super friendly, always eager to help, and seemed to love their job! Especially Rosie, Farrah, Dee, and kenton! The food was also amazing! I would stay there again and recommend with no hesitation!

Ocean not swimmable there-water dark and lots of seaweed- but that is beyond the hotels control. I knew this from what I’d read before and still glad we stayed there. Far from town, long drive in everyday to Placencia. Maybe a shuttle would be nice?
