There are only 4 units or cabins in the one building. So book ahead! I was reserved in the end one. My name was on a white paper welcoming me and the light was on!! The restaurant is in the front building with the gas pumps. Walk inside, and there's a little store to the right and a small seating area for dining and a large kitchen in the back. Katie was the chef, and she was prepping for dinner. Chicken with pasta/w/tomatoes, and salad. Sign me up! Stew, chili, spaghetti and desserts were also listed. To top it off, I asked her if there was any music. Yes she said, but you might not like it! Why is that? I asked. She said her uncle has it tuned to Willies Roadhouse! Turn it up! I'm home! I said. Love Otis the dog!

wifi is minimal

The motel is cute, very clean, beds were comfortable...breakfast at the dinner next door was amazing! Best French toast ever and we just loved the entire place. Dog friendly and easy late check-in. We wouldn't come through this way without stay here & eating here! Seriously, best bread from Skagway, Alaska to home!

I wish we could have stayed another night and had time for some hiking and lake time. Just passing through this stay.

Old and Rustic but clean. If you are a 5 star prissy then maybe not for you. Perfect for my family and I.

No wood stove or fireplace in the log rooms :( I understand though, I wouldn’t trust many of the travellers (I’ve encountered many) with a flashlight let alone a match. Same type of travellers getting outside their vehicle to feed and take a closeup of a Bison.

Loved the location in the mountains!! The dinner I had of beef stew was by far the best I've ever had! The room which was cabin-like was a pleasure. Scott made a great breakfast of his special oatmeal and filled me up for hours. I'd love to stay there again if it wasn't so far away!

Because it's in the middle of nowhere generators run 24/7. Once in my room I couldn't hear them, so no problem. Gas was very expensive for regular; around $11/gallon but I suppose he has to pay to have it trucked out there.

Great location. Rustic motel cabin. Clean and comfortable. TV but no tea/coffee facilities in room. Host made us very welcome, good sense of humour. Breakfast was served in the cafe attached, freshly cooked by host, large portions, plentiful coffee/tea. Enjoyed banter with regular clientele. Would stop again.

Lack of kettle in room.

Great location. Easy check-in and checkout. Basic room but perfect for what what we needed. Great parking.

Very thin walls. Very easy to hear other couples waking up in the morning. Maybe just me, but would have been nice to have a deadbolt on the door.

There are literally only 2 places to stay at Muncho Lake. And I am really glad that we chose this one. we arrived around 6:30 pm after having passed the other lodge 3-4 miles back. Admittedly, we were a bit concerned, as we seemed to be on the middle of nowhere! When we arrived, there was a sign on our door with our names on it. The door was open. We thought we were going to have to drive back to the other lodge to find food, which was not very appealing, considering we were going to have to drive in the dark on a curvy road near a lake with no lines, we were relieved to find out that they served dinner at this place. We had steak on the bbq, corn on the cob and perogies and we didn’t have to go anywhere. Everything was delicious. Our room was clean, comfortable and the beds and bedding were cozy. The water for showers was hot. There was a tv, but we did not turn it on. There was no coffee or blow dryer or microwave in room because they rely on a diesel generator for power, but it did not matter a bit! There is access to snacks, drinks, and has on the premises. Wi-Fi was limited, but enough to text family of your whereabouts and check social media weather etc. It was a very pleasant stay. po

One could complain about blow dryers and bandwidth and other frivolous things, but we were in the middle of a beautiful paradise- and very happy to have a lovely comfortable and safe place to stay!!

This place is absolutely amazing. A rustic outside, but the place was spotless. The beds were amazing, cabins clean. The owners take you right in like family. The food is beyond this world. Home made bread, cinnamon buns, thick cut bacon with breakfast, everything homemade.

Loved the log cabin style motel in the gorgeous mountains of northern BC. The room, food & staff were excellent, got the biggest breakfast sandwich of my life! Look forward to stay again on my next alcan journey

The room was quite large in a cabin like room. Clean white towels and crisp white linen. Lots of tv stations. Free wifi. Fire pit for common use outside of rooms. Quiet. Best shower I have ever taken in my life, due to the water pressure. You can turn it on to Mach chicken pressure or turn it down. Beds are nice and firm but not too firm. Picnic tables outside of the rooms. We had breakfast at Double G and you will not believe the size of the bread/toast. It’s easily double the width of Texas toast. Really nice menu and everything is home made. They have a little store with trinkets and chocolate bars/drinks for the road. Super great price overall and I would highly recommend this site to all travellers for a quick overnight stay on a long journey. It’s about 50km from the Liard Hot Springs.

It would have been perfect if the room had a mini fridge. Travelling long distances, we always have a cooler of food and drinks and it would be nice to refresh the ice packs in a freezer and keep our drinks and food cold.
