This is a great option of stay in Providencia. The cabañas are a 5-minute walk away from one of the best beaches in the island, a very calm place, with a beautiful sea and a few but good restaurants. Boat tours leave from the nearest beach to the keys and the peak you can climb in the island is really close. There is a bakery, a market, a breakfast and a hamburguer place right by the inn. Mario and his son were very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. They also rent scooters, which can be helpful to go around the island. The room was very cozy, with very comfortable beds, an open closet, air conditioning and a ventilator, a nice balcony with a hammock and a nice bathroom. Simple, yet perfect for what we were looking for. Breakfast was included and it was nice. Rooms were cleaned every day. We really enjoyed our stay here, wish we could stay longer. We highly recommend this stay and would come back again.

The shower was not hot, which was not a problem for us, since it's really warm in the island. Also, it could be difficult sometimes to reach the staff at night if we needed information, but we managed, just make sure to schedule and confirm tours beforehand.

Fantastic location, close to everything you need and the best beach on the island with the most beautiful sunsets and top cocktails at Joel’s. I’ve booked the upgraded single room with the balcony and the room itself was a nice size with a modern air con system. The staff was the best I’ve had in 3 weeks in Colombia, lovely breakfast and special thanks to Solaina (hope the spelling is correct :) ) for making me feel so comfortable and welcome. Hopefully will be back for at least a week next time!

The hotel is well situated in South West Bay and a short walk from the beach, restaurants and store. The included breakfast was very yummy. The owner was very lovely and helped us arrange a moto rental, tour of the island and our early-morning taxi ride to the airport. The room matched the photos and the hammock on the balcony was a lovely place to relax. I don't think you could find better at this price point on Providencia.

The wifi didn't seem to reach our room, so we would have to go out on our balcony or to the restaurant area to use it.

It is probably a 1or2 star hotel, but I'm giving 4stars for a great visit. There are not a lot of 5star options on Providencia (ha sarcasm- there are None), so be grateful for the limited comforts of SW Bay Cabanas. Our room was large, a suite with air conditioned bedroom, and a wonderful hammock on balcony. Selena, the office manager, is very friendly, helpful and always seems to be available for all your needs. Breakfast is charming on outdoor porch, but portions are meager, more than 1 cup of coffee will cost extra. Temperature is perfect for al fresco in the morning. The hotel grounds are fenced for security (from wandering horses, not really thieves) and have many coconut palms, and tropical bushes. No safe, but the island has very little crime, this is not your top worry. No TV, but you shouldn't be glued to the boob tube in paradise anyway. Wifi only in restaurant, but my room balcony was close enough to pick it up from the hammock outside my room door. Finishes are very basic and rough, but that is part of the adventure- you're in Colombia. No hot water, but the rooftop cistern heats up during the day so that a late afternoon shower is pleasantly tepid. The hotel accepts credit cards, which is a serious plus. Most stores and restaurants are cash only. Bring enough of COP from the San Andres Airport ATM.

The host wrote to us a day before our arrival, which made us confident on having local information about going from the airport to the hotel. We stayed in 4 other places and all them failed to answer to us before arriving, let alone writing us first. During our stay, they were very kind in giving us tips on what activities to do and contacts of people to call to. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and location too. We recommend it.

It would be nice to have hot water in the shower. Nonetheless, the weather isn't cold so after the first few seconds you get used to, but it would be a nice upgrade to make.

The room was very comfortable and the hosts exceedingly accommodating. Breakfast was very tasty and the location, being a stones throw from the island’s best beach, is excellent.

The only drawback is it is located on the island’s main road. It has a sea view still, but there is a bit of noise from the motos that pass by. Not quite the island paradise vibe I had hoped for. Having said that, I don’t think there are many places on the island without this, and Mario let me change room to one further from the road which made a huge difference. Note: I’m very noise sensitive. It’s not a serious problem by any means. Final point, I really hope Mario takes my advice and installs a filtered water dispenser, so that guests don’t need to buy countless plastic water bottles to stay hydrated. Small changes like these make a huge difference to the guest experience and to plastic pollution worldwide.

The property was very responsive in all communications and I felt very prepared for arrival and departure (taxis, payment, arranging a scooter, etc). The rooms were simple but very clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked great. Beautiful view from the balcony and super comfortable hammock!

There was no room safe and I felt a bit uncomfortable but figured it out.

Quick walk to Southwest Bay, one of best beaches on the Island, if not the best. Manzanillo is close by if southwest is too windy. Scooters are new and great condition. Staff was warm and welcoming. Included breakfast wasn’t the best, but it was calories. Loved reading in my hammock from the patio. Great place and would def stay there again

Breakfast is not that great. A couple scrambled eggs and 3 pieces of toast, and an apple (unsliced) or orange (was sliced) coffee was okay

The South West Bay Cabañas is a very agreeable place to stay. The owner and the staff are very helpful and sympathetic. It is great located, 7 min walk to the beach, 2 min from a little shop, it’s quiet and we enjoyed our staying there fully, thank you all! Super, that you can rent Scooters there :-)

All was fine!

We loved it here. The staff is very kind, the area is beautiful and the location is amazing. We had an amazing time here! Although the rooms are a little bit older and the bathroom is a bit outdated/old, everything works and is fine. Breakfast was nice! You can take a 5 minute walk to the best beach on the island and the best restaurant (El Divino Niño). There is also a small store very closeby. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend!
