From the moment we arrived at Casa Del Mar we were made to feel like the most important people in the world. This was our last stop on our 3 week tour of California for our honeymoon. We notified all the previous hotels on our trip of our special occssion and Casa Del Mar was the only hotel to acknowledge this. We were suprised with a room upgrade with a view of the pier, prosecco on arrival and chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us in the room. The rooms are cleaned daily with a turn down service and freshen up every evening. The staff go above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. With our flight home not until late in the evening we were able to have a late checkout at no extra cost. We had complimentary bike hire as well as the availability of a car service up to 3 miles. The location is only a short 5 minute walk to Santa Monica Pier and a short bikes ride to Venice Beach. Worth every cent to stay at this hotel particularly for a special occasion. If you are after a 5 star stay in a great location do yourself a favor and stay at this amazing hotel.

It was Perfect!

I've been dreaming of staying here for years and finally splurged for my birthday. It was worth every penny. I was upgraded to an ocean view room, and was sent chocolate covered strawberries and prosecco, treated like a princess, and provided perfectly professional, warm, and courteous, brilliant service. Thank you to all the staff, especially Angel at the front desk for all your kindness on my birthday. The room, the bedding and bed, the view, the amenities, the bathtub, the working desk, the lighting, all were tasteful and well designed and incredibly comfortable. Don't change a thing. Also loved the plush bathrobes, and all the resort extras, from free bikes on loan, to a local car service, to complimentary drinks, to morning yoga, all included.

It couldn't be better, everything was perfect.

Beautiful property and rooms etc. Check in desk staff, door staff & all the other staff we had contact with were excellent. We received a free room upgrade plus champagne with chocolate dipped strawberries as it was our wedding anniversary during our stay. Definitely recommend you and would not hesitate staying again 😊. The lady concierge, whilst friendly and happy to help, was (in our opinion) lacking in local knowledge for restaurant recommendations etc. We asked for help booking a bus tour for the LA sights and we ended up doing it ourselves !

Aesthetic lobby and restaurant. Location walking distance to other beachy destinations.

Too many unstable, yelling homeless people in the area by the beach. The City of Santa Monica should protect the public spaces for the use by the community and not allow them to be overtaken by the homeless. No homeless are in the hotel and the Hotel is an oasis on the beach.

LOVED this hotel and was a favourite on my trip. Highly recommend getting a beach view room, amenities and the services, location and room were impeccable. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. Venice beach is a good 45 min walk away on a bustling walkway as well.

The lobby was beautiful. All the staff was amazingly attentive, kind and helpful. We felt pampered. A special mentioning is necessary for the Amy the Concierge lady. No words to describe her. She is definitely an asset for Casa del Mar.

Sound insulation in the rooms left much to be desired. We had to change room after our first night because we could hear the adjacent elevator all through the night and even in our new room you could just hear the noises from the adjacent rooms.

Hotel room was lovely ("one of the best designed rooms we've stayed in" according to my interior designer wife) The hotel has a car service which you can use to get to local dinner reservations etc which is a great touch Gym is well-equipped for a hotel gym (albeit very american-style - lots of free weights, less weight machines)

We booked a room that had breakfast "included". Breakfast included meant we had a credit at the restaurant that is open to the public. We each ordered one dish, one coffee and one juice - which didn't feel like a particularly egregious order. Our breakfast credit came to 60% of the bill. So I'm not sure breakfast "included" is particularly accurate. In fairness, as its a public restaurant the quality is higher than a "hotel breakfast" but something to be aware of. Value: the rate was as described and seemed to be in line with other similar quality hotels in LA, but I really don't understand why LA prices are as they are versus similar cities!

Incredible location , nice very responsive staff, great services like Yoga and house car .. very nice pool area All processes pre check in and during stay very responsive and good. Great staff !

All a bit dated - lights broke in the bath room , coffee machine did not work, main kitchen under renovation during high season. Our room had no windows to open

Every time I stay here I say it’s near perfection but I wish you left chocolates like the Ritz does with nighttime turndown! 🤎 The only other issue we had this time is you were VERY busy with some film conference & there were never any servers at the pool like there normally are so both days we had to call room service to have delivery at the pool which at first they resisted but we said there are NO servers at the pool as there should be to place an order.

Fantastic location! 😸 We got out of the car from the airport.The dream starts! Door men take care of you. We entered the lobby and it was beauty encapsulated. The whole stay was entrancing!!!

When you are in living a dream by being at the Casa Del Mar there aren't many negatives.
