The staff was amazing, the gentleman that took care of breakfast every morning was top notch. He was moving non stop, cleaning, refilling everything. It was clean. In the past at other hotels ot seems like they always ran out of towels. This place always had them. The bar and food was top notch at the restaurant, they stay open later if they have enough people at the bar and we're always great to deal with.

The only thing I disliked was the hot tub had a ton of sand in the bottom of it. Hard to complain about it when you have guests that swim in the lake then come get into the hot tub. They have a shower inside for people to rinse off, before going into the hot tub/pool.

Lovely location right on the shore of Lake Superior. I enjoyed sitting on the sand beach each morning and evening. This is not a "sunbathing" beach, rather a beach to enjoy the view and listen to the waves. The hotel has benches, picnic tables, and even a large porch type swing, all right in the sand about 20 feet from the water's edge. ROOM: Check in and check out were quick and simple. My room was the same as the photos here on Booking.com and it was very clean. I am not fond of carpeting in my hotel rooms, yet it was in good condition and no obvious stains or damage and no strange odors! The bathroom was super clean and plenty of towels were available. Note there is a sign by the bathtub informing you to be careful exiting the tub (along with a safety grab bar) - pay attention to that sign. FOOD: There is self-serve coffee, tea, hot cocoa in the reception area all day and night. Breakfast was good, general "hotel" breakfast with cold/hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cold cereal (3 types), instant oatmeal packets, packaged muffins, hot sausage links and scrambled eggs. Also a variety of breads, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and juice. Finally make-it-yourself waffles with syrup and/or various jellies/jams. STAFF: All staff I interacted with were positive and always helpful. The breakfast attendant was present in the room all morning cleaning, refilling items, and chatting with guests. This person even walked around with the coffee pot offering to refill your cup!!

Older hotel - the rooms have thinner walls so if you have a loud neighbor you may hear them. I didn't have any issues with sound, but it is certainly something to know. Absolutely understandable due to the dates of construction.

The location is fantastic! Right on the shores of Lake Superior to enjoy the beach and water. Short drive to Porcupine State Park and Lake of the clouds. The pool, hot tub and sauna were wonderful- hot tub is HOT, pool is refreshing and quite large for an indoor pool. The on-site restaurant is great for weary travelers and the breakfast had lots of choices. All staff members I encountered were helpful and knowledgeable about the area and quite friendly. The beds are comfortable. The rooms have an extra large mini fridge to store any food. Single cup coffee maker and microwave too. There is also on onsite souvenir shop with some items to purchase you may forget to pack. The outdoor space is spacious with ample seating for many. There are two areas for bonfires along the beach- we didn’t utilize these as we were tired from travels and went to bed early.

Our waitress at the restaurant wasn’t as attentive as other staff so I’m not sure if she was new. She didn’t check on our table often and the small dinner we ordered took longer than it should have. But that could have also been a kitchen error.

We couldn't make it until literally the next day so I wanted to at least be extended the late checkout courtesy but unfortunately the clerk did not have the authority to do so. What? Let this pls be a teachable moment to EMPOWER your employees specially overnight staff I also returned do add $10 to the $8 I left in the room bc I wanted the young lady who gave me the towels as well as the other male worker besides Kory who was so helpful when my fiancé lost his phone n was actually cleaning the room when I returned to drop off the tip He Kylie directed me on where to put the tip and ensure that the young lady would get it, which was great, but I was surprised, actually shocked that he did not get part of that tip, which was my intention

We had a nice, comfortable, pet-friendly room. The staff was accomidating and friendly, especially the ladies at the front desk. The hotel is right on the lake and has a nice stretch of private beach. If you can get a good rate on your room, book it! It's the best hotel within 20 miles or so.

We stayed during a buy weekend, and our room was VERY expensive, like NYC expensive. Also, the hotel is very noisy. The sounds of the heater and flushing (from other rooms) were so loud, they kept waking me up.

We stay here for memorial day week annually and have been for 4 or 5 years. The staff are always incredible and the rooms and grounds are one of my favorite. See you in 2025.

Only downfall is the restaurant and it's only the hours. I wish their kitchen/restaurant was open til midnight. Most of the time we were getting back around 10 and it closes at 9 or 10. Other than that the food was great when we were able to get it.

We liked that there was a pool and hot tub as well as the continental breakfast. We used the hot tub every day! We ate at the restaurant on Friday night and had a great meal and great service even though they were short staffed. The gentleman working at breakfast each morning was very friendly and it was obvious that he enjoys his job!

Could have used more parking.

Beach front location and our room had a lake view and a functional window! The lake front has seating and a fire pit. We used the pool, which was a good temperature, and the hot tub had very strong jets - we enjoyed both. Pool towels are provided at the front desk. You could tell staff enjoyed their work.

We chose the location as a midpoint between two road trip stops, but didn't realize there wasn't much in the area, only two options for dinner. We did eat at the restaurant in the hotel, which is unfortunately understaffed and food took about an hour to arrive - would plan for that accordingly next time.

The hotel was very clean, the bathroom had nice fixtures and the shower was great. It's easy to get to, there was signage on the highways nearby that let us know we were going in the right direction. The hotel staff was welcoming, friendly, polite, and eager to be of service. There were nice little touches in the room: Two hand towels were folded like swans at the end of one of the beds with a little note that said "We're glad you're here!" or something like that. It just seemed very welcoming.

The restaurant's food was a bit sketchy. My husband had fried shrimp and fries and that was fine. I wanted to order grilled shrimp with a baked potato. They were out of both (out of baked potatoes??) I ordered a garlic parmesan encrusted walleyed and fries because there weren't many other choices for a side. I envisioned a thin crust of parmesan. The cheese was very thick and overwhelmed the fish. I ended up scraping it all off. I guess I should have asked more questions. The next night of our stay we stopped at a bar just down the road and had a great burger.

We've stayed here a few times and love the location just outside the Porcupine Mountains. Our rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. We loved having a fire on the beach and watching the sun set!

The pool and hot tub had a very strong chemical smell at times, to the point it burned your eyes to be in the pool room.
