The estate and the extraordinary friendly staff were great again! Although the historic mansion is still under construction, it was again a great experience. ... it will look marvellous when finished - even now some of the rooms were refurbished with care taste.

The whole location is just amazing. An old manor which is renovated with love to details and enlarged with new buildings in the same style. The staff, especially the receptionist, was great! Very friendly and helpful.

no breakfast, work in progress stuff

Beautiful apartments which have been finished very well. Good mattresses and duvets.

1. Apartments not practical for a stay of more than one night. One room only had a chair to put your things on and a few hooks. No cupboards in the bedrooms. Also the bathrooms lacked places to put things. 2. Dinner was not acceptable. We cancelled for the second night. The food was not fresh. Maybe e food was reheated or boiled to warm it. Nothing came out hot from the kitchen and the amouse bûche served at the start was deep fried in dirty oil. Breakfast was ok much better than dinner but not outstanding - no alternative plant based milks or alternative yogurts were provided. Further, on morning 2 the terbikes were reheated and not fresh. 3. The whole site is a work in progress still. They are doing work all over and there was a machine sound outside turning the whole time - possibly getting water out of a hole.

Value for money is neutral. Considering that construction was still ongoing, performing heavy construction work and eg. pouring of concrete to create a terasse rigth outside the windows it was rather expensive. Description "view to water and garden" was not correct. That aside it´s a very nice place to stay, quiet in the evening and nights.

The place is amazing: an old castle in the middle of a very cute Danish island, you really feel like you’re traveling back in time! The bedding was super comfy +++ and the staff super nice, even if some were not speaking english.

The room: We got downgraded in a room that was not part of the main building, 5min away by walk and that was still under construction (see pictures). The place did not match the pictures and description, was not romantic, with construction view and almost no decor. We complained to the receptionist and she reallocated us in another room: she told us that we were upgraded, however, our second room fitted the pictures and the description of the room we initially booked on Booking.com ( same features on the property website). The dinner: Then we had dinner at the restaurant: 5 courses menu for 695 DKK, wine on top. We were expecting something fancy and tasty for the price, considering the incredible location ! Disappointment: We spend 3 hours in the restaurant and eat a lot of bread as we were hungry. The starter was a piece of steamed cooked white fish with hot lettuce and some fish eggs; no sauce, no taste. The second was an overcooked portobello with dry cheese on top. For the main course, the meat and sauce was tasty, but the side was a whole half-onion with uncooked carrots. Cheese was the real Danish experience. For desert, a very simple pecan/caramel tart, that has nothing special. We really felt overcharged for the experience we had and complained to 2 staff members, who were happy about our transparency, but didn’t do anything to make up our night. Amenities: The hotel was booked for a weeding for the weekend and we were not informed about it at the time of booking: we could not access the bistro for the entire weekend.

The location was good for us and the bedroom was nicely furnished

We were shocked to find that the whole place was a building site. It has just reopened but the refurbishment is nowhere near complete. We drove along a field to enter the back of the courtyard past a huge lorry and though a large cloud of dust. The nice receptionist/waitress did her best. Our bedroom had only a very thin net curtain so we were awake at 0430 when the sun came up. The builders outside started work at 0700. Breakfast was OK, but we didn't expect to be sharing the breakfast room with a large group of builders. The WiFi was very limited and only seemed to work in a small area around reception. Our check-out experience was truly appalling, with a disgracefully rude gentleman. The place shouldn't be open yet. We paid 2,400 DKK = £300 for this awful experience.
