The hotel is a short and inexpensive taxi ride from the bus station, and the surrounding area has plenty of shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The mattress and bedding were decent, and we were given a small heater, which was appreciated as it was quite cold. Breakfast was nice.

The room was quite small and felt dated, with an old box-style TV. The shower was cramped, more like a narrow cupboard, and oddly separated from the sink and toilet. The breakfast area felt cold.

An absolutely stunning old historical building with great views from the roof. This is a proper hotel, rather than a hostel (their hostel-hostel is in the basement), so no real kitchen access, but the staff is lovely and the accomodations are super clean and comfy. I was in the 6-bed dorm (this is the only dorm which is in the upstairs hotel portion rather than in the hostel area), and it was great.

The staff at Golden Rest were very kind and helpful. We stayed here the night before taking off on the Quilotoa Loop. They took care to answer our questions and provide guidance for our trek. They were also kind enough to store our unneeded luggage while we were on our adventure.

The best value of money during this trip. I reserved a bed, but instead they gave me a private room. It's small and in the basement, but for the price I paid it's definitely worth it. Free coffee and snacks anytime of the day. Nice warm shower. The staffs are extremely kind and helpful.

Awesome location; beautiful common area with billiards table and sofas; restaurant was accommodating to our very early breakfast needs and opened early for us.

No complaints. Excellent quality for value. Extraordinary old building.

good location. amazing courtyard with a pool table and table tennis. we homeschool our kids whilst travelling so this was perfect for a bit of downtime, plus they had free cake :)

The dinner included in the booking leaves room for improvements.

Colonial style hotel that you would never believe from the outside. Very impressive building. We had a lovely room (it was not standard) with a huge bed. It was quiet and we slept well. The locks we're fiddly but were all changed in all the rooms while we were there.

Food wasn't that great. Breakfast a bit bland and luke warm coffee which we got re heated.on a couple of occasions. We went for half board. I wouldn't recommend that option

Great location, close to a major square but very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. i think the building must be very, very old. I found that very pleasant. I would stay there again!

My room was a little "old," but very comfortable.
