easy access from motorway, plenty of parking, pleasant garden environment very useful balcony, staff very pleasant. bedroom was quiet, bathroom had all necessary facilities and accessories. even a plug in the sink! breakfast was plentiful and tasty with hot and cold foods both available. all staff had english that we spoke to.

although restaurant staff were very pleasant they had little skill in opening bottle of wine which had to be taken away in the end. replacement bottle not offered. bedroom crockery made in UAE! why does parador preserve properties and culture at some considerable expense and then import items so easily made in Spain.

Friendly staff, lots of parking, comfortable rooms with very large beds. Nice shower. The pool was closed (winter) but looked very nice. Easy to find. The location is great as a stopping point if you're on route somewhere (as was our case), but note it is very close to the motorway! (although in our room at least you could not hear the road)

Didn't try the breakfast but had a coffee - would have hoped for an expresso/latte but instead got an amerciano which could have been better.

Excellent dinner and breakfast. The helpful and friendly service from the young man on duty in the bar area on the 25th January. (sorry I did not obtain his name) but well done .

Non availability of food having arrived at 4.15pm and having to wait for dinner at 8.30pm. Having travelled for 2 days this was not good. Not restricted to this hotel but Paradores need to think about their northern European customers who sometimes travel ,as we did, long distances.

This is a first-class hotel and very good value for money - much cheaper than most Paradores. The food is really good: you can tell this because it's used by a lot of locals. Breakfast was excellent - good buffet with hot food cooked to order. We have stayed here a couple of time before as it is literally less than 2 minutes from the motorway with easy free parking which makes it a great stop when we travel to or from the Santander ferry.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean. Nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool. Plenty of private parking. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were told we needed to book for breakfast as "the hotel is fully booked". We did so and were told the restaurant opened at 8pm for our evening meal. However when we went to the restaurant at that hour we were told the restaurant would be open at 8.30 pm! We went to the snack bar instead. This was understaffed. The staff on duty were rushing around doing their very best to satisfy their customers. They did a great job. Breakfast was not fully subscribed and made a mockery of having to book to ensure a place! The final absurdity was having breakfast cereals on the buffet but no milk! This had to be requested.....

We stopped here en route through Spain for an overnight stop. The room was very nice with a small balcony. Bed was comfortable and the room was lovely and clean and welcoming. Good bathroom. The breakfast choice was very good and dinner was also good. The lunch menu in the bar was very restricted though. The swimming pool was a very welcome feature and towels were provided.

Very close to the motorway, very easy to find. Welcoming staff, good sized rooms. Food was excellent. We arrived on the day the power was out, Reception were dealing with an influx of unexpected guests needing rooms but handled it very well. Restaurant staff were lovely. Great place to stay en route to the ferry in Santander.

The building and the surrounding structures are historic and beautiful. The hotel has a fascinating characteristic and old world charm and is very well maintained as are the rooms and bathrooms which are clean and well kept. The restaurant has great food and the staff are pleasant and provide good service.

It's quite a few years since our last stay here. The hotel is very convenient to the motorway and has a lovely grandeur about it. Very comfortable room (with no road noise). Lovely courtyard setting for a drink. Choices of bar or restaurant dining. The restaurant dining was 'fine dining' at a reasonable price. Superb staff, both at reception and in the restaurant.

Totally satisfied

I like the old world charm. The staff were very friendly and I felt at home and for me that's important. I prefer the cafe to the dining room and that is mostly because the dining room feels a little souless.

The worst thing that I can say is that the parking spaces are a little cramped and of course that is pretty trivial.
