Stunning building with a lot of history & character. We also had the experience of great staff. We arrived late & we had kindly been asked if we wanted dinner but we just wanted snacks that we had brought, so they kindly offered a table in their breakfast room where we enjoyed our snacks & a great value red that they also offered. Love the late check out time thank you. This property was great value for money.

The building is old (which we love)but it is starting to look a bit tired externally & more so internally. I love the idea of keeping the history of the decor with the era of the house, but it felt cluttered, looked worn & felt dusty (although it was actually quite clean). It is more the look of it, old & tired rather than antique & sheek.

A French trip to remember! Arriving at the Chateau you are instantly blown away by the building, truly magnificent. Solo travelling can be quite daunting sometimes but arriving at the Chateau I was welcomed and felt immediately reassured. I was supposed to stay in the annex but they moved me into the Chateau which was a lovely gesture. I asked to eat at the Chateau on the night I arrived and it was a night to remember. Truly delicious meal, great company and I felt privileged to be included (even though I don't speak French). The host and other diners made such an effort to include me in conversation and was a great evening. I cannot recommend enough.

We loved our stay at Château de la Morinière—it was the perfect place the night before a wedding. The kids had amazing space to run and play, and we even walked down to the local stables to see the horses. What made it unforgettable, though, was the incredible dinner with wine, cooked and shared with the warm hosts—a truly unique French countryside experience with thoughtful touches for the whole family.

excellent room in the Annex which comprised of 3 rooms served by a communal lounge kitchen diner with fridge. Excellent for food storage …building 30 metres from main chateau. we had an excellent fixed menu 5 course evening meal which at 45 euros seemed expensive initially but champagne aperitif, starter wine and main course wine were all included and plentiful. Hosts sat with us and other residents around a table with 12 sharing food and company.Authentic French cuisine including escargot, salmon tartare, fish main course and strip of French desserts. Breakfast excellent with freshly baked produce and good buffet.

Gardens and pool area need a bit of TLC re summer planting and landscaping.

It is like a fairytale, you step inside a beautiful forest to find there an amazing castle and most welcoming hosts. I have learned about ‘Chambre d’hote et table d’hote’. You sleep with the hosts and you dine with the hosts. This is a magical experience, everything there is just extraordinary, and this is coming from a rational and not quickly impressed person. The rooms are very clean. The bathrooms are very modern and clean. Decorations are amazing; each room has a theme and everything is in that theme. The hosts know how to make everyone feel welcome, the small details matter. At breakfast they were sure to create specific tables for everyone. It were the small things, making it even more special: advising where to park to get the most shade; giving an elderly couple a room on the ground floor as they were unable to climb the stairs; setting all breakfast tables with the precise preferences of everyone. And the most amazing were the dinners; where everyone dines together at one big table where for one night or for a few, you feel being part of a family, with people you might never see again. Dear Muriel et Pascal, c’est magnifique!

That I didn’t speak enough French to understand all the details of their story and their journey of how they became the people they are today.

Very beautiful location, unique historical interiors, very impressive. We highly recommend booking their dinner and breakfast, it's an exquisite and delicious experience!

I would recommend, if you communicate with the hotel via Booking messages, to translate it in French (with Google translate). We had a slight miscommunication because of that, which was happily resolved.

Only stayed overnight and the rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Lovely setting - we stayed in the annexe which was also very pretty. There was a kitchen with a fridge downstairs so we could re-freeze our freezer packs - very handy!

Check in was a bit frustrating as we were running a bit late fir a rendezvous and we had to wait while lengthy conversations went on between the hostess and the guests checking in before us. Then there was a confusion about rooms we booked. But all fine in the end - very happy with our rooms and Madam charming.

A warm welcome on arrival and a room upgrade to a large room in the annex. We were offered dinner for an additional cost and took it up as we had a long day driving. The dinner was FANTASTIC - 4 courses of exquisite home made food paired with wines. The owners joined us for the meal at a large table set for all who were eating that evening. The company and conversation, both in English and French was wonderful. We are very much looking forward to a return visit.

Fantastic for a family to have the annex. Beautiful house and location. Perfect for our travel down to the dordogne . Breakfast was lovely.

Rooms were very warm but understand that it’s difficult to put air conditioning on a beautiful property.
