We loved the charming hosts Lars and Nirin and the chateau they have restored with style. The dining terrace has a beautiful view over a valley with Nantes in the far distance. Lars cooked us a delicious, elegant and generous dinner and breakfast was perfect too. They made sure we felt welcome in their home and they entertained their guests with the history of their chateau. I'm especially grateful for Lars's suggestion we visit the oriental garden near Cholet. They put thought and grace into being hosts which made it a pleasure to stay with them. They only have a few rooms so it all feels personal.

We had a fantastic one night stay at the Château Haute Roche. The owners are warm, friendly and immediately make you feel at home. The room was immaculate, the bed very comfortable and the view over the Loire incredible. Lars, the manager-owner always has time for the guests and it was fascinating to hear his anecdotes about his travels and the surrounding area in the Loire. It's like being in a fairy tale. You immediately feel relaxed in the location. The town is a 20 min walk away which we enjoyed. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Loire was amazing. The owners make a lot of their own produce and some of this is served at Breakfast. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and seeing the beautiful gardens. A haven of peace. We will be returning.

Zero. There was a very small problem with the bathroom which was fixed immediately.

The aspect of this establishment is exceptional. It is a wonderfully managed old 'Castle/Chateau' offering exceptional decor and comfort. The views over the Loire are stunning (to the west you can only just see the city of Nantes in the distance). Ideally situated within Oudon (a charming town in itself) and easy access to other Loire Vally attractions. Our host Lars provided us with a very detailed history of the Chateau and the Loire Vally in general. Lars is also a wonderful chef and delighted us with his exceptional cooking.

What a super property! The rooms are lovely, beds super comfortable, grounds beautiful and hosts very kind and helpful. Lars gave his time to answer the copious questions we had 🫣He is very knowledgeable. it was a surprise to stay here for our kids so worth the experience. We all loved the breakfast and the relaxing terrace and drawing room. 🥰 We walked to Oudon a couple of times as we had no vehicle. Then we hired bikes which we used first the day which was helpful.

Nothing! Be mindful that the taxi comes from Nantes so a 25 minute wait if you need one… just FYI.

Our stay was lovely! A beautiful property and very tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious with a huge shower! The bed was comfortable and big windows with plenty of light and no elevator but easy stairs to the second floor. Lars, who is a former professional restaurant chef, prepared a delicious 4 course dinner for us and his breakfast included home made bread and jams. Lars wanted to ensure that our stay was just right. He also had charming stories to tell about the history of the chateau, which were very interesting.

Nothing could have been better!

Our host was so welcoming and shared the history of the gorgeous property which was very interesting. His cooking was outstanding and very generous in size, bed was extremely comfortable, lovely bed linen, very spacious room & bathroom, loved the dogs too.

We would’ve liked air conditioning but a fan was provided and we understand that many of these historic properties don’t have air con.

A really wonderful place with superb furniture, paintings ,beautiful glass and a fabulous view. All in superb order but most of all the charming host Lars who couldn’t have been more welcoming and attentive. A perfect breakfast too and such a comfortable bedroom again with stunning views. The best b&b we have stayed.

Absolutely nothing!

The rating scale needs to go well above a "10" with Chateau Haute Roche! This place is perfect, with the bonus of amazing views of the Loire Valley. From the warm welcome from the host (Lars) and his 2 dogs, we were welcomed to their beautiful home with everything a guest could expect, while still feeling at home. Everything is well thought out and finely detailed. The breakfast was perfect! Covered and secure bicycle storage was provided.

Beautifull Château close to the Loire with nice Gardens. Very comfortabe rooms. What makes a visit unforgatable are the hosts Lars and Nirin. They really go the extra mile for their guests. You feel like visiting friends. The breakfast and Table d‘hote is completely home made with products from the region. Definitely a place to recommend and come back.

Beautiful castle, amasing view, great staff, delocious food and Romeo (the dog) made our stay even more romantic. Never stayed in a castle before but this was an unexpected and wonderful experience. Our host helped us make unforgettable memories for life and we are thankful. Oh, the cherry jam (host made) best i've ever had....and the champagne ❤️
