Beautiful old house, very comfortable and welcoming. We had one of the front rooms with large veranda and fabulous views of the mountains. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, large bathroom, all very clean with quirky decorations. The breakfast was generous, with a wide choice. Lots of places to sit, both inside and outside in the garden. Lovely swimming pool. Quiet but only 5 minutes walk from Prades centre. Would highly recommend, and we would love to come back.

Really great breakfast. Lots of choice including eggs, cheeses, yoghurt, several different kinds of honey, choice of fruit juices , cereals etc. Hard to fault. Spacious room with very large balcony with loungers and easy chairs and even a lamp for evening reading sessions. Lovely big guest lounge with copious amounts of tourist information. Access to fridge freezer and microwave. Plates and cutlery available if you wanted to order in a pizza or prepare your own simple meal. Hospitality tray in room with mini fridge. 19th century house is set in beautiful, well cared for gardens. Hosts were welcoming and very approachable.

This is a great location for exploring the surrounding area: Prades is a small town with a commercial zone away from the old centre and accessed from the by-pass. Access to local villages, walking routes and other activities is easy by car, and there is a SNCF line to/from Perpignan. The beautiful house sits in a large garden (with swimming pool) and is magnificently restored. It is gorgeous inside, and run in a friendly, very relaxed way; every facility you could want is provided or offered (eg use of a washing machine, fridge in the room, honesty bar for snacks etc)

We had a perfect time, we loved everything in this place, Kate is amazing host, breakfasts are perfect, pool is wonderful, the room is comfortable and very clean and the air of the mountains and the view did it even better.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Beautiful villa set in well maintained and landscaped gardens. The hosts spoke English and French and were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice. There is an endless supply of tea and coffee for you to help yourself to plus an honesty system where you can take wine and snacks whenever you want just record it in the book and pay at the end of your stay. Comfortable lounge area with books and games, enclosed pool area with loungers and lots of well positioned seating in the garden.

Impossible to think of anything

Prades is a great place to stay with a friendly centre,good restaurants and a highly decorated church.The Villa was fantastic with lots of architectural detail,it was a pleasure to stay there. The hosts who were English were extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. The bedroom and bathroom were very large with a very comfortable bed and a hot shower. The location was excellent with plenty of parking. I would definitely book again.

Absolutely nothing to dislike.

The English couple running the hotel were very welcoming and gave us (probably) the best room in the hotel, with a massive double balcony and extensive mountain views. They even offered us a lift to Villefranche.

The bathroom was a little outdated, however in such a building the cost would be prohibitive to update it.

Everything. The grounds were stunning and our room had a huge terrace facing Mt. Canigou. The gorgeous building and gardens were wonderful. There was a self service bar offering wine and spirits at a very reasonable cost. The breakfast room is gorgeous with beautiful views. And the selection at breakfast was expansive. We were the first of the season to use the wonderful pool. Ample parking. Kate and Nick are terrific hosts.

Stately home with grand rooms and beautiful grounds. The owners are also the hosts and they take excellent care of you. Place is central to many hikes and attractions. And only 50 min drive to the coast.

Liked it all.

The house is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Nick and Kate were kind & generous and made the stay feel really special, and Nick was kind enough to give us a lift to Le Petit Train Jaune when the bus didn’t turn up. Would love to visit again in the future.
