Lovely quiet and spacious room with tea and coffee making facilities (no milk though). Spacious modern bathroom. Very friendly amenable staff. Secure on-site parking - it would have been free, but we had to pay extra for it because we reserved it in advance. Excellent buffet breakfast (but, again, had to pay extra for this). Location was great, an easy walk into the town centre to see the sights and access local restaurants.

No fridge in room, but reception did offer the use of a fridge for our milk. A mini fridge in the room would have been more convenient. The shower was slippery underfoot, despite having a ridged base. A shower mat would have been better.

This is about the fifth or sixth time we've stayed here, and each time it seems to be better. The family room has been refurbished and looks great - it is an enormous room, with effectively two separate sleeping areas. The breakfast was better than ever - great selection of meats and cheeses, five different breads, fruit, bacon and eggs for the Brits, etc. Coffee is poor but that's France for you. Get an Italian machine!

We were a bit disappointed on departure because we exited the car park and found the end of the road, where we had planned to turn left, barricaded for a street market. This is a one-way street! We had to double back (luckily we could turn left quickly) and improvise a route the other way. Luckily we've been here before and had a rough idea of the right direction to take. However it would have been nice for reception to have warned us, and could have suggested an alternative (most of the cars had UK number plates and presumably we were all heading for the A26...)

We stayed at this hotel for an overnight stop before returning to the UK after a motorcycle tour. We chose it because it’s close to Calais, offers a secure private car park (we prefer not to leave our bikes on the street in large towns or cities due to theft concerns), and is within easy walking distance of the town centre. The town centre is only a two-minute walk away, with a selection of restaurants and a quirky pub/cocktail bar, if that is too far for tired legs there is an Italian next door to the Hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was decent, featuring the usual continental options along with scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes for those wanting some hot options. It’s also open very early in the morning, which is ideal for those catching an early Channel Tunnel crossing—probably one of the main reasons many guests stay here. I read a review mentioning that some rooms in the courtyard are “accessible to the public.” I stayed in one of these rooms and found security perfectly adequate—you need a key card to enter the stairwell and the room itself. A friend of mine stayed in another courtyard room at the opposite corner and had no concerns either. At night, the courtyard is locked with a huge gate. I travel into Europe most years and will definitely stay here again on the way in or out of Europe.

During our stay there was no hot water on arrival, but after our meal there was enough for a shower, but as no other reviews mention it I can only assume they had some issue at the time and it will be resolved.

Great for road trip stopover - very central while only 5 mins away from motorway. It has decent car park and on-street parking when the on-site parking is full without worrying about parking payment. I have used this hotel twice as stopover during road trip in France. We liked that we could take a walk in the town and take kids to the playground instead of being stuck in some motel in middle of nowhere. Our first stay had air conditioner, but second stay had only fan provided. Rooms have shutter windows technology. Best to check with reception. The hotel interior is a bit dated and that is perhaps reflected in the price, but it has all necessary comfort and nice breakfast room for stopover stay - we've also stayed in ibis/B&B hotels in Saint Quentin before and I'd pick Le Florence again.

None. Only negative if you expect 5 star hotel from a 2 star hotel

My husband and I love to stay in this hotel. We love the location as we can cross the channel early evening and reach St Quentin in time to have a walk and a drink before bed. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and very patient with my limited French or speak English. The rooms are perfect - the bed comfortable, in a quiet part of town, secure parking, which if your car is packed for a holiday is very reassuring. Breakfast is a very good selection of breads, pastries, cheese, meats and fruit plus more. They cater for gluten-free which is me - as long as you mention when you book breakfast. We will visit again when we are travelling South.

St Quentin is a short distance from Calais, so we stayed here on the first and the last nights of our holiday in the Loire Valley. If only our other holiday hotels had been so good! Room spotless, bed comfortable, excellent breakfast, easy parking. Also good was Monsieur's recommendation of a small restaurant in the town square, one of the best meals of our holiday.

No fault of the hotel, our satnav took us on a very roundabout route to find it. Eventually, with the hotel on our left, the car park is next left down a no-entry road! We continued to end of road, turned left, left again, and again, which brings you to the car park in Rue Renan.

A very comfortable, family run hotel close to the centre of St Quentin, convenient for facilities and sightseeing in the area. My team of eight needed a base for two nights in early May from which to explore the WW1 1916-18 battlefields north of the Somme river. The Hôtel Le Florence fitted the bill perfectly. Good size double rooms with en suite were clean and well appointed. The bar staff were extremely accommodating and the breakfast was excellent value. Parking our 9-seater minibus in their courtyard overnight was no bother to them although there was plenty of free street parking available. The hotel had the advantage of a very good Italian restaurant right next door and there were plenty of other eating establishments less than 100 metres away in the town square. Summary: this is a very nice hotel and much better for its two stars than many higher star establishments we encountered on the same trip.

The appartment was spacious and well appointed. There was a large living area and kitchenette. The shower room was clean and fresh and the bed comfy. There was air conditioning. The seating area was nice and the breakfast bar worked well for sharing a drink and a meal. The location was close to the town centre with restaurants, bars and shops. Le Petit Chef restaurant was excellent. Parking is on site and free and our dog was made very welcome. Saint Quentin is less than 2 hours from Calais and so is a good stop off location if you are travelling further afield and need to break your journey.

The appartment is not part of the hotel but just down the street. This did not matter other than it being slightly further to carry the luggage from the parking.

Lovely room, well set out and just right for our stopover. Breakfast room was well set out with a very good selection of food. Excellent value stay, have now used Hotel Florence four times, superb location for a stopover on the way south or on the return to Calais. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the was a problem with our original room and we were speedily found another, excellent service. Centrally located in St. Quentin, just a short walk to the main square where there are several restaurants, we prefer Le Petite Chef.

Car park rather small, need to be their early! Nothing else.

Excellent room, comfortable bed, quiet and very well located for supper in the centre of town. Staff were very friendly and gave us an upgrade for free given they had spare rooms! St Quentin is the ideal spot for an overnight en-route to Calais from the Alps for an early'ish boat/train back to the UK the following morning... and this has just become our new go-to hotel! (Small tip if you want somewhere to eat, too - try the 'Petit Chef' on the main square - fantastic steak frites!)

TV was pretty old and couldn't plug it in to my laptop to play back a film... but that is a very minor quibble!
