The location is very quiet, close to the Cantal mountains, the house beautiful with a lot of history. Very nice garden and lovely pets! The owners are very hospitable and friendly, with a lot of knowledge about the area (best hikes etc). Breakfast was lovely, fresh and plentiful. Our room (it was the biggest one) was very spacious with a good shower.

Finding a good restaurant on non-weekend days was a bit of a challenge, but you can’t go wrong with dinner at l’Escoundillou in the nearby town of Saint Jacques des Blats (recommendation of B&B).

The owners of the property both made us feel very welcome. The house was in a lovely rural location, The room and facilities were to a very high standard. The breakfast was more than adequate.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely house - it was even better than we had expected! The three rooms were large, nicely decorated and clean, with en-suites and amenities - TV, kettle/teas, etc. Our charming hosts Veronique and Bruno made it a home from home - they were so keen to help with advice and invaluable local knowledge from the moment we arrived. We were delighted to be able to use the house kitchen to prepare evening meals when we wanted a change from going out (though bear in mind this is not included or necessarily available, as at Veronique’s discretion and depending her family use) - there was a separate area with fridge, microwave and storage just for us too. When we got drenched skiing in the rain (not ideal but all part of the fun!), Veronique helped hang our wet things by the large lounge fire place. Breakfast was typically French with fresh bread, homemade jams, croissants or little pancakes each day, pressed apple juice and bowls of coffee or hot chocolate. The kids especially loved playing with young Swan the English Setter and Noisette the friendly cat. We saw the local Stag a couple of times and enjoyed the tranquility of the beautiful surroundings - even though it was only a one minute drive off the main road (no noise at all and pretty light traffic generally). We used the house as our base for skiing at Le Lioran and it couldn’t have worked out better - an easy 10min drive each way - allowing us to enjoy being in the resort and also in the spacious, peaceful countryside. We were all sad to leave - it felt like we had been staying with family or old friends! If you’re thinking of booking and they have availability, then don’t hesitate as it’s all good. Hopefully we will be back there soon enough ourselves… Thanks again V and B!
