Hotel is only a short drive off the motorway A9 yet located in stunning scenery with rolling hills as far as the eye can see. We were met by the staff who helped direct us to a parking space, safe and secure for the night and right by the hotel, easy to bring in luggage. The room was excellent with good space and fantastic views and room for the small dog we were travelling with. So quiet at night, slept well and woke to lovely fresh coffee and a breakfast that had offered something for everyone.

as mentioned in previous review. This is our go to place for stopover on our roadtrip. Recommended spot off the A9 in a quiet location. Recommend the short walk in the forest behind the hotel. A few mistakes in the restaurant ( we got our dinner 40 minutes after the 1st person in our party) in the evening. Seemed kitchen was overwhelmed that evening. Food and beverages were great though. Bfast good.

Lovely position and everything spotlessly clean. The restaurant served good food and everything locally sourced, even the beer. We stayed only one night on our way from Croatia to the North. It is around 4km from the motorway but definitely worth the effort. Parking is an issue but a little further up the road is a large car park. The EV charging point is a definite plus. Would definitely stay again.

This was our 2nd time passing by this hotel. Friendly stuff, great kitchen, parking near-by, and the overall atmosphere! We arrived pretty late, when restaurant was already closing. The reception stuff/kitchen were very kind to arrange a table for our family and cook for us!

Absolutely a beautiful location in the Franconian hills. Charming 'old school' family-run hotel with an actual person at the reception. The breakfast was delicious with a very varied selection of fruit, bread, cakes and a decent coffee on top. Having a charging station for our electric vehicle was also a nice welcome surprise. Definitively recommended.

Nothing to complain really. It was a bit further away from the motorway on top of a winding hill but it's hard to fault that given the beautiful view from the top.

Beautiful and charming hotel in the hills outside of Neurnberg. Tasty dinner and quiet surrondings. Nice breakfast and good hikes in the area.

We were not offered a dessert, before the kitschen closed. Most of the staff did not speak english.

I had to leave earlier as expected and checkout was not possible yet - reception is not 24h, the owner made checkout - sunday waking up especially for me, breakfast was served also shortly before usual opening time, thanks a lot, I travel usually with my lab and there was no problem, gerne wieder

Very nice stay at Igelwirt en route to Switzerland. Room is nice and clean. Hotel is situated in calm locations off the highway. Good local cuisine and friendly service. Breakfast was very nice. Will stop again on our next roadtrip.

The beautiful hotel was in scenic surroundings, but only accessible by car. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly, but not too charming.

As the restaurant was closed on Monday we had to travel 14 km to reach the next town for a good place to have dinner.

Great breakfast, great location, had dinner at the restaurant on the terrace overlooking the sunset. It was a stop on a journey from Berlin to Italy, but the place was worth a stop. We loved the family style and tradition. It is the second time we stop here

We wanted to take a walk in the woods, but the maps and descriptions are only in German, we would like them also in English
