The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices at the buffet. The service at breakfast by the waitresses was very good. The location was excellent! The castle and the grounds are beautifully kept and inside was warm and cosy with lovely antique furnishings to fit the castle’s original era. Lots of attractions nearby! The breakfast is very plentiful, fresh and generally tasty. The castle is in a wonderful location, clean and tidy. The staff is very nice and friendly, and they speak English (mostly). We spent a really nice two days at that area.

Information in English is not available. They gave me a ticket (they misspelled my name) but I have no idea what the ticket was for. I didn't asked more deeply, because I thought it would be there: They gave me a QR code where, in principle, information about the hotel is available in 4-5 languages, but it is only in German, regardless of the language selection. So still no clue what we missed. The bed is very uncomfortable and creaks. The toilet is mounted very high (non-standard height), I know it's not nice to talk about, but I couldn't use it properly. The Wifi was very week in our room. (At the corridor was okay.) Next time, ask for my opinion in English (you know, the QR code card) if you're really interested.

A beautiful historic building against the forest of the Harz mountains. The Schloss features comfortable and spacious high ceiling rooms and classic old German decor. Endless hiking just outside the door.

At times the reception staff was difficult to locate and it was difficult to identify who we were engaging with... the receptionist? the cleaning staff? Kitchen help? Owner?

Schlosshotel is the most unique lodging experience we have had! The grounds are beautiful with adorable folklore gems to be found. The hotel is stunning and you feel like you've stepped back in time, with the comforts of modern amenities!

Wifi, no possibility to eat dinner at the hotel, its a bit far away but that we knew before.

The location was great, in the middle of all the towns and places we wanted to explore. Breakfast was high quality and plentiful, really a perfect start to the day.

The beds could have been a bit more comfortable, especially the pillows.

The breakfast was truly excellent, just wished we had had more time for it :) It's a really nice rmoantic little castle, a little off the beaten track although with a car that's no problem. The grounds and outside would also be especially nice in summer - we were there in October so we could not take advantage of the little pool and the outside seating. Inside there are lovely little decorative touches, we loved the little autumn displays.

You will need a car to get around to the attractions of the region and also to get to restaurants or food supply shopping.

The grounds were pretty. Breakfast was nice and we enjoyed having it outside.

Very odd room set up. The toilet was in a separate, dark room. You stepped up into the bathing area and there was a motion sensor light on the step which went on and off. There was also lighting in the bathing area that stayed on most of the time --- not conducive to sleep.

Lovely location, plenty of hiking nearby. Swimming pool was really nice.
