The room was a good size and had both a fan and air conditioning, though the AC comes at an extra cost. The bathroom was decent in size, with strong hot water. Outside the room there’s a small seating area, which is a pleasant spot to relax after a long day. There’s no fridge in the room, but when we asked, the staff kindly let us use some space in their kitchen fridge. The hotel is located right on the main road, so expect early traffic noise along with the usual chickens and dogs—earplugs are useful here. It’s a small town, and you can walk into the centre in just a few minutes, though it’s slightly uphill. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but the menu offered a good variety.

Perfect if you want to enjoy Semuc Champay without the military regimes and scams around hostels close to the semuc Park. Lauris is a lovely hotel in Lanquin. The owners will help you with anything. And you're right next door to the amazingly good restaurant zen bistro.

It's a bit on the far side of walking distance from the Exxon stadion where the shuttles drop you off. But you could easily get there with a tuktuk for 10-20Q. It's a lot of hills up and down from Exxon to lauris which makes it a bit far to be walking with suitcases etc.

It's a good place to stay in case you're here visiting Semuc Champey (or for any other reason, really.) There weren't any guides, pamphlets or anything of the sort available but we asked for a ride to Semuc Champey and a local came to pick us up in a pick-up truck they typically use as cabs. The room itself is simple and clean. We had a fan, so no AC, and the shower only runs either super cold or super hot. It had some hammocks right in front of the rooms, so that was real nice. I'd stay here again :)

The location itself is good, you can walk to restaurants and little stores. But in the night it gets very loud. It's not their fault it's just the location. During all hours are dogs barking or roosters screaming. It's coming at all hours. I have a light sleep so for me that was the only thing that was not perfect.

Very clean beds and pristine daily housekeeping, quiet and calm hotel, good hot shower, daily nutritious breakfast, very kind and helpful owner and staff (who helped me to arrange activities and negotiate good prices with tours). Has wifi and cell signal, which can be hard to come by in semuc.

Room that is nearest to the road is slightly noisy from road traffic at night due to prime location. Wifi signal was weaker from the room in the early mornings.

I liked the fact that we asked where we could go for breakfast and the owner said that she could cook us breakfast. Good Value and very tasty. It is a basic hotel but the room was very clean and everything worked well. The shower delivered lots of hot water and the bed was comfortable. There was no issue with the wifi and it was very quiet at night. It's an uphill walk I to the centre of town but it's not very far. There's plenty of Tuk Tuks going past if you don't want to walk.

Comfortable room with very accommodating and friendly staff. Lauri even found space for us to rest ahead of check in following a 6am arrival which was incredibly kind. Delicious breakfast available for a fair price. They were also happy to refill water bottles. Lauri helped me get some washing done at a nearby hotel. They can call the collectivo over to Semuc to pick you up directly from the hotel. Thank you!

The owners and staff were wonderful. They helped me arrange activities, practice my Spanish and made a beautiful breakfast every morning.

The property is simple - but clean and welcoming. My only suggestion would be to include comfortable seeing in the common area to encourage travellers to gather and be social.

AC as extra cost, we were during the weekend so it was a big party close to - we didn't mind becouse it finished at 12.00 pm, but if You want to go sleep earlier- take ear plugs

Location. The room is as advertised. Limited options in Lanquin, but this is good value for money. basic but clean. The staff were great, very accommodating. The semuc champey tour they offer was a highlight and they even helped us on our way to Cobán. I would recommend this hotel.
