I was looking for nice place to stay for the weekend, gone through lots resorts online. But this resort catched my attention while going through Google maps. After seeing the pics and reviews I booked immediately. What I liked most is it's architecture. Building looks like traditional Kerala style big bunglow. And also the location which is in a forest. I liked the ambience and room facilities are also good. Ride through forest road is very satisfying. Reaching to this place took a long time because Google maps some time shows wrong route after Mysore ring road. Google maps suddenly changed it's route and showed me very long route once I entered Mysore ring road. Please don't deviate from ring road to any other short cuts. Once you cross bandipur and madumalai checkpost, you have to take left at teppakadu junction. It won't show in the Google maps. Better to crosscheck with forest guards for the route. Food: Food we need to order in advance for dinner and breakfast. I liked Chicken 65 which I had for dinner along with panneer curry and rotis and phulkas. my kid liked English breakfast with mashed potatoes, fried veggies and omlette bread toast with butter and jam and she ordered one more. Staffs are polite and humble and service is 👍 good. If you are planning to come here then it's better to reach by noon. Afternoon there are few site seeing places that we can cover. Since it is off road place, better to take the private jeeps for rent. I stayed here only one night and I would like to visit again. Next time would like to stay here for few more days to cover the missing places and safari. Thanks for the resort staff for making our stay a memorable one. 👏😊

Just a small suggestion: would be great to have a bar with coke and beer. Also the gardrn is huge and it would be wondrous have there some hammocks, deckchairs etc

Avadale in Masinagudi was located in a nice place, you get great views from your room and the room was very spacious and had all the amenities that a family would need. The best part of our stay is definitely the food from the resort. The options can be a bit limited but all the dishes we tried were really good. Masinagudi is a small town and there were not a lot of good restaurants which serve quality and tasty food, the resort saved us in that aspect.

It was hard to get in touch with the resort using the contact numbers provided online. One of the landline number is answered by an automated response machine which doesn't take you anywhere and the mobile number is usually unreachable. Once we reached the place though, we got a working number that we then started using to contact the property manager.

Loved the place and the simplicity of it. The place in itself is very sustainable, with water filters easily accessible. The rooms are sustainable, with minimal tissue paper provided, liquids soap and shampoo. It's in the forest area so the place is very peaceful. I even got to see dogs chasing a deer early in the morning, in the property.

Liked everything about the place. If there was one central space where food can be served, it would be even better. Right now there are a few gazebos in the property where guests are allowed to have food.

Its a calm and serene place. Though not much of activity if you are traveling solo. since I enjoy photography and birding, did get to capture some close clicks. Well maintained property. with great hospitality. will have to give a shout-out to Arjun who took good care as I was unwell. Taslim the property manager again was very approachable and always available to help you and solve your queries. Definitely the staff has been outstanding.

Food menu options are limited and should have option of ordering half portions. Lot of food wastage if you travel solo. most of the places I have traveled solo allowed me to order customized smaller portions.

1. Great Location with scenic undisturbed views, expansive green lawn with lot of outdoor games such as badminton, kite flying, football etc. 2. Almost perfect for families with young kids. 3. Rooms are clean, very generous and helpful staff. There are two types of rooms- Deluxe suites ( garden facing) and Deluxe Rooms (mountain facing) 4. Food cooked in-house is decent and reasonably priced. 5. Guests can have it in the gazebos while soaking in the gorgeous sights of the misty mountains . 6. There is a functional terrace and open to all guests throughout the day. But in-house food is not served by staff, guests need to self-serve if they are eating on the terrace. 7. Water Filter from Eureka Forbes installed in every room.

1. No provision of bonfire ( all adjoining resorts and retreats seemed to be having it) 2. We were greeted with fresh cow dung strewn on the grassy lawn, badminton court etc. So early morning strolls or kids wanting to play/ run around would have some waiting period. 3. Deluxe suites could have better storage in the form of wardrobes and cabinets.

We visited Avadale to relax and we certainly felt relaxed after our stay! - Location: the accommodation is very close to the mountains so the views are beautiful. The sunrise and sunset was amazing. At night you can also see millions of stars! - Room: room was very comfortable. It had a tv, kettle (with teabags etc). The balcony was huge and such a nice place to chill and listen to the nature around. The Wi-Fi speed was also very fast. Good aircon. - Staff: Very friendly and helpful staff! - Food: Really enjoyed the food here, it was so tasty. Highly recommend the korma for dinner. - Activities: There is lots of board games (chess,monopoly,uno) and options for outdoor sports like cricket, badminton etc which would be nice for families. - Excursions: They had loads of options and provided a detailed pdf with the different options. We opted for a safari. The driver was very friendly. We saw leopard, sloth bear, elephant and much more! He also drove us to the temple on the hill and drove us around the festival that was on. I would not know where to begin . This was our second trip to this place and I have fallen even more in love with the place and it’s surroundings. it’s super peaceful ( other than some inconsiderate guests) , it is in the middle of nature with a lot of respect for nature. - the staff is 10/10 - the food is amazing and very reasonably priced - the view is to die for - the property manager and the property owner do everything to assist you - the goats and cows are friendly too :D Go here to unwind .. switch off your phone and drown yourself into your favorite book or sit on the terrace and soak in all the vitamin D. Spend your day admiring this beautiful part of our lovely planet . keep the noise to a minimum. Highly recommended !!

Nothing to dislike !

We absolutely loved staying at Avadale in Masinagudi. After travelling through Tamil Nadu for three weeks, we were so happy about staying in such a tranquil yet exciting place. The hotel is beautifully located and great for trips in the Madumalai Tiger Reserve. The fact that they have a professional brochure with different activities makes everything so much easier for guests. Harish and Abid from Wild Ways are excellent tour guides! Avinash and the entire team at Avadale are incredibly attentive hosts and the food at the hotel was just amazing. We would highly recommend Avadale to anyone going on a trip to the Mudumalai region.

Nothing to do with the property, but foreigners should be aware of the vastly different entry fees to the nature reserve and might want to consider a safari in the buffer zone (provided by Avadale).

the resort is very good and service is very well taken care and we had good time as the location is very clam and peaceful and it is very good if you are nature lover.. the resort is very well suited for family if they wanted to have good time be it married couple or be it with parents as we observed no alcohol consumption and smoking and the resort is maintained very well and we will visit again for sure when visiting Masinagudi
