Super friendly staff Bright and colourful room, cleaned every day, basic but perfect: great AC, Wi-Fi, soap in the shower. We stayed the first time for 3 nights,and we felt very comfortable, so we came back after our trip to Bangka Island! Few coffee and bar around,and great restaurants at walking distance (but the main road has much traffic, need to stay aware whilst walking)

Breakfast is really local style and few few choices: no sweet things but only rice or 1 sandwich. The second time we came, we booked a room without breakfast included, and we walked 2 min to find a nice bar for breakfast, easy! To the city centre/shopping mall area/sea, it's a bit far and you need either grab either scooter,as we did: the location was indicated when we booked, so no bad surprise at all!

We only stayed 1 night, but the room was very nice and comfortable. Great hot shower. FYI, the room in Istanaku 2 is more spacious than in Istanaku 1.

There is no lift for people in Istanaku 2 (there is for Istanaku 1). There is a lift for your luggage though and they will bring your luggage up to your room for you. This wasn't a problem for us, I am only mentioning it in case the information helps others when booking.

Our stay here was great. The room comfortably fit three people and included a TV with an anteroom that had a desk and chair. The bathroom was good and had a bit of space too. The hotel also set us up with a tour to Tangkoko National park through EJK tour that had wonderful tour guides Jean and Elly.

If you have lots of luggage, the stairs might be troublesome. The staff kindly assisted us with ours.

Clean room, nice staff, nice wall paintings, free water refill.

Linen had a few stains. Power socket lose (safety). Breakfast could be improved. Instead of offering a buffet style without real choice, I would suggest a simple menu with e.g. 3 choices. Coffee tastes awful. Why not use the available porta filter machine (ok to charge extra) We would still come back any time. These are meant as points for improvement. We would skip breakfast next time.

I stayed both in Istanaku 2 and the other one. The overall experience was very good, it was a clean and comfortable place. The breakfast was good, simple but with enough options. We came at 2 am and had an easy check-in which was appreciated.

Some stuff is improbable but they didn't spoil our experience. The istanaku 2 has no elevator and maybe some bath math would be useful.

The staff were over the top friendly and helpful and welcomed us with big smiles despite our arrival at around midnight and an early morning departure at 6am the next morning! We were so blown away we booked another night before we depart Manado. Rooms were comfortable, spotlessly clean, air conditioned, and cold filtered (reverse osmosis) water was provided in the hallway. Wifi and air conditioning worked great and the space is beautifully decorated with funky murals and artwork. Staff were very helpful with our bags and arranging an early morning transfer.

Nothing! Everything was perfect, wished our stay was longer.

I had a good stay here. I liked the free water, nice warm shower, lift for the luggage, good breakfast and the location was decent too.

On arrival i got a bit confused by the fact there are two Istanaku guesthouses opposite each other. Workmen outside my window but I just drew the curtain.

The staff were super friendly and helped us with everything possible. With the round-the-clock service, you can check in and out at any time. We also thought the water dispensers were great! It helps to produce less rubbish. Also the design of the hotel is quite cool!

Breakfast was okay but not outstanding

Very kind staff, they also helped us to arrange transfer to the airport in the middle of the night. Property is super clean, has everythung you need for couple of nights. Close to the centre. Great place if you are transiting through Manado. Reception 24hours open - top!
