Large space in the villa to accomodate all our 4 family members. The hosts did their best to help with various tips. We really enjoyed the breakfasts - they were amazing. We asked for 1hr and a half late checkout and this was accepted - big thanks for it! During a heavy rain - we noticed some drops in the roof - the host quickly intervened and addressed the issue. The facility is located in a quiet and authentic area.

Grab is not available in the area. Consider downloading the Gojek app or using a local taxi, though the latter may cost slightly more than app-based rides. Adding shampoo in the bathrooms would be a nice touch, as would additional shelves for clothing to improve storage convenience.

Wonderful place to stay in Balian - a hidden gem. The rooms are either ocean view or garden view and are super comfortable and clean, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The restaurant is great and breakfast was a highlight of the day. I had a massage arranged by the hotel and it was wonderful. Also arrange transport. The staff are super kind and attentive. It's a short walk to yoga, the beach and surfing and a variety of cafes and restaurants.

If they had a coffee machine (lattes, flat whites etc) then I may never leave....

We had a fantastic time at Istana Balian. Before we arrived we had WhatsApp contact so everything was arranged when we arrived. They arranged even a taxi driver who also took us to the most beautiful spots. So when you go to Istana ask for Nova he is definitely the best! We stayed in the villa which had two bedrooms and a beautifull vieuw The restaurant is perfect the meals are fantastic and the staff is lovely If we go back to Bali. We definitely stay at Istana again

We loved the Istana, the staff were all AMAZING and the ocean view villa we had was incredible. Lots of room, comfy beds, heaps of space, we had a tv upstairs and downstairs so the kids could watch what they wanted and felt like they had their very own space, and I could watch what I wanted and have some space to breathe as well. They organised our driver, moped hire and just took care of us so well it was a great experience and we look forward to coming back one day.

I loved my stay here. I wanted somewhere away from the big tourist crowds where I could relax and unwind, swim at the beach, and eat delicious food! This resort has the lot! I booked for three nights but extended my stay. The resort is about 2 1/2 hours drive from the airport, depending on traffic, and I was happy to meet my pre-arranged driver at the airport - the drive didn't seem that long at all as he introduced me to Bali, told me about his family etc. This location seems to be a popular place for surfers, the beach is only a few minutes walk away, and there are a number of cafes nearby. Happy to recommend!

The food at the restaurant was actually incredible. Delicious homemade bread, best breakfast, lunch and dinner. I’m not sure who was in the kitchen but do not get rid of them ever. All the staff were super accomodating. There’s just a nice, happy vibe from everyone that works there which really makes your stay feel relaxing. The location is perfect for surfing and it’s super easy to get around from there, either walking or on a scooter. Awesome night markets close by too. We will be back!

It’s does need a little TLC around the room we stayed in, just some light upgrading here and there.

This property is owned and operated by Hare who is an exceptional young Indonesian completely focused on customer service and comfort. The property is brand new, minimalist in design (think polished concrete) and staffed by a team who are enthusiastic. Excellent bed, linen, air-conditioning and wifi make any stay here a pleasure. The pool is currently being built and once completed should be a great addition to the property. The property features a gym on the rooftop (inside + outside area), which is reasonably well stocked with free weights, a universal weight machine and cardio machines. Without doubt, one of the most pictureesque gyms I have ever worked out at....and empty every time I used it. The property is a short 5 minute walk to the main Balian beach. Quiet, brand new, very comfortable and a definite winner for me!

Hare is in the process of putting in place a couple of finishing touches. A fridge and some in room tea and coffee making facilities would be very welcome although in the interim, all of this is available at the shared kitchen facilities located at reception.

Great location, awesome staff, and QUIET!! tucked away on a hill so that you can easily sleep in the morning in comfort! Pool was really nice, food at the restaurant was sensational, I had the best beef burger I've had in a very long time! Also the beds and linen were amazing, had the most comfortable sleep for the whole trip!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This was an outstanding Hotel nice walk to the beach ,Comfortable beds clean well though out rooms nice décor well kept property We made sure to eat most of our meals at the hotel restaurant because it was hands down the best restaurant in all of Bali !!!! The staff were exceptionally polite kind and Well vibed ..so much so we extended our stay three times For such a reasonable price this is amazing!!!!

I can't begin to explain my love for this place, and the people who own it and the staff who maintain it. The pool is. fantastic, the breakfast is wonderful, the vibe here is so great I made friends I will have for a lifetime - including Michael, the owner, who made me feel welcome and appreciated. I've been to 36 countries - I've never stayed in a more welcoming place with a villa that was everything Bali was in my mind. I would definitely come back.

I didn't like leaving. Maybe I should come back soon :)
