Waking up to Maria’s perfect breakfast, featuring fresh and local ingredients, was a delightful way to start each day. What truly set this experience apart was Maria herself. She went above and beyond in every way—introducing us to friendly locals, guiding us on a fascinating tour of the castle, and even accompanying us on a shopping trip. Her dinner recommendations and suggestions for local sights were spot-on and enriched our experience of this beautiful town. Located conveniently close to the motorway, B&B L’Antica Balbia is an ideal stop for anyone traveling through Southern Italy. But honestly, it’s much more than just a stop—it’s a destination in its own right. We fell in love with both Maria’s stunning B&B and her kindhearted hospitality. Maria was a wonderful host, very pleasant and responsive. The property was very clean and welcoming. Nicely decorated. Breakfast was exceptional.

It is a very old part of town which has great charm and beautiful views but roads were designed many centuries ago and we were driving a large van. We had elderly family who have walking challenges but it all worked out. This would not stop me from returning.

The property is so clean and we really appreciated how kind the owner is she was wonderful gave us great recommendation for lunch and even went the extra effort to call and walk us to the restaurant. Breakfast was also amazing cakes cookies and cafe would love to visit again

Maria is a wonderful hostess. The Inn is so lovely and well kept. The location is really great in the middle of the old section of Altomonte. Altomonte is a beautiful, old town that has great restaurants and a gorgeous view of the Calabrian countryside.

The shower is rather small, and the AC could work better.

This was a magnificent hidden gem on our travels through Europe! Stunning rooms with beautiful decor, a great location in a unique hilltop town, and easy parking. The breakfast was delicious, but most of all, Maria is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended! Thank you Maria!

L’Antica Balbia was fabulous, as we were the only ones there we had the house to ourselves! Maria was amazing, so helpful, friendly & accommodating! She made amazing cakes for us to have at breakfast & we also had enough food to make panini for lunch ! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Altomonte! Nothing everything was excellent

What a host is Maria! She showered us with sweet treats, gave us recommendations for dinner in this picturesque and historic town and served us a lovely breakfast in the morning. Of course everything was spotless and perfect in our room - even the sheets were ironed! Definitely stay at the B&B L'Antica Balbia and tell everyone Maria sent you!

Really nice B&B, clean, comfy, very spacious rooms with a very clean bathroom. The owner, Maria, was really kind and careful to our needs; she cooked all the fantastic cakes for the breakfast (a lot of cakes 😁).
