For our last night in Sicily before flyiing out of Catania we chose to stay at Nèroli. What a perfect way to end the trip with a relaxing walk through the olive and citrus orchards under the powerful view of Etna. We also enjoyed our evening meal and the excellent breakfast.

The staff were amazing! They were welcoming, helpful, and always available to make our stay comfortable. They even ask you to request food and drink by the pool via WhatsApp, which is very convenient. The hotel is beautiful; small, cosy, very charming, and well-designed. Nestled amongst vineyards and olive groves, the property used to be a monastery where monks would make their own wines. We enjoyed trying and learning about all the different wines. They make their own olive oil too, which is delicious! The restaurant offers a great menu of local dishes, all made with local produce.

The only downside is that there’s nothing around, so staying here is definitely a conscious choice to be remote. However, the hotel offers everything you might need, and if you have a car, there are nearby towns and villages to visit.

We were looking for a peaceful, quiet retreat in the countryside to unwind and enjoy great food—and that’s exactly what we found. The location is quite remote, so the only way to get there is by car. We highly recommend renting a car or using your own, as relying on taxis can get expensive. There is ample parking available, with the added bonus of solar panels covering the parked cars. The staff were incredibly friendly, spoke excellent English, and made us feel very welcome. We stayed in a Double Room with a Terrace. In addition to the main entrance, the room had its own private entry through a gate. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the air conditioning actually worked, which is a rarity in many hotels. The room was a lovely mix of old-world charm and modern amenities, with the original flooring from the monastery adding a special touch. The only downside was the small bathroom, and the shower had a slow drain, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. Breakfast was simple yet delicious. While the variety wasn’t extensive, everything we had was fresh and satisfying: scrambled eggs, homemade polpette, flans, Sicilian pastries, and cakes. You could also order eggs to your liking, along with freshly squeezed grapefruit and blood orange juice, and any coffee you wanted. We dined at the hotel for both lunch and dinner, and while the menu was small with similarly-sized portions, the quality and flavor were exceptional. However, note that there are no snack shops or stores nearby, so it’s a good idea to bring your own snacks and water if you plan on staying on the property. Although we didn’t use the pool because it was still a bit too cold, it appeared to be a good size, albeit shallow. The surroundings were incredibly tranquil, with fields of olive and citrus trees, vines, and even some animals like bees, chickens, tortoises, and cats.

The breakfast was good, also we had two evenings of dinner. The food is fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was nice and quiet. We chose it because we wanted to stay out of the city. It would be perfect for someone who wants to enjoy the countryside. I will be back there someday.

In general, everything was good. However, it was unusual that the duvet on the bed was dressed between two sheets instead of the duvet cover. I think it's not 100 percent hygienic. I don't know who is responsible for the road before the hotel, but it should be nicely done. It's all a road with potholes.

This charming farm hotel, nestled amidst vibrant orange groves, provides a truly unique and unforgettable experience. A highlight of our stay was the stunning view of Mt. Etna, majestically blanketed in snow during January—a breathtaking sight that added a magical touch to the serene setting. The breakfast was exceptional, featuring fresh, farm-sourced ingredients that were both delicious and satisfying. The hotel also boasts a first-class restaurant, offering incredible dishes that further elevated our experience. The staff was outstanding—a diverse, welcoming, and knowledgeable team, clearly proud of this hidden gem. Their professionalism and excellent training ensured every aspect of our stay was perfect.

During our stay, a severe storm hit the area, resulting in frequent power outages and limited internet access for most of our visit. While this was beyond the hotel's control, the staff remained apologetic and made every effort to address the issues, though with limited success. On the bright side, the lack of internet contributed to a quieter, more restful atmosphere, which we ultimately appreciated despite the inconvenience

Isabella & Ariana were very welcoming, friendly & very helpful. This historical resort was beautiful & rich in history with authentic construction & design. The restaurant had personalized service by Joshua & sommelier Markos. The dishes were a Michelin star rating, thank you chef! Breakfast was outstanding with so many choices & beautiful view of the property. Again, friendly service. We were upgraded to a balcony room😊 A refrigerator & safe was in the room.

I could have used better lighting & a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. A bit more counter space would have also been helpful. Unpaved road to the resort. Signage was limited due to surrounding construction.

Our stay was phenomenal. The location is breathtaking and surrounded by so much nature. The food in the restaurant was excellent as well as there staff that worked there. They were all so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was filled with various delicious foods and it was also an opportunity to taste the jam and other homemade produce (The homemade olive oil and mulberry jam were fantastic!). It’s worth additionally having lunch and dinner there, with wonderful views of sunset and sunrise. Laying by the pool is a great way to escape the heat in summer and also have a drink. We had so much fun and cannot wait to come back again. Greetings from Germany!

There was nothing that didn’t exceed our expectations!

The setting of Nèroli Bio Relais is lovely, peaceful and much appreciated after a day of sightseeing in and around the entire southeast side of Sicily. It is an easy drive to Catania airport – even for our early am departure back to the US. The staff and the chef go out of their way to make you comfortable and meet any needs you may have. The chef stayed late and on his supposed day off to prepare soup for four weary travelers that needed a little TLC (we were fortunate to be invited by another couple).

Staff were excellent, very helpful. Don't be put off by the dirt track to the location it is a great place to stay and relax. We used as a base to travel in the area but also spent some time relaxing in the pool. The rooms were excellent although the walls were a little thin and they did not replace the soaps and towels each day but those are minor issues which should not detract from the overall experience. The hotel itself is well looked after and the best of the three that we stayed in on our visit to Sicily. Great view of Etna whilst having breakfast!

We had dinner in the hotel on the first and third night. The menu was the same on both nights so assume it would have been the same on the 2nd as well. The food was excellent BUT there were only 4 choices on the main course, 2 were pork and the other 2 were basically grilled vegetables. For a hotel that clearly aspires to offer a quality service this needs to be reviewed. Given the location is remote and there is little alternative close by it feels like the hotel knows there is little competition and therefore does not need to over think the options.

This beautiful hotel lies in the country side close to Catania. We wanted a quiet stay in Sicily, away from the city live and that's what we received. The staff was amazing and incredibly helpful and the restaurant had some of the best food we ever ate. The view from the breakfast room towards Mt Etna was very enjoyable every morning. The only thing to be aware of is that planes for the Catania fly low over this property, so you can hear airplanes from time to time, but that wasn't an issue for us at all.
