Wow! What can I say about this place. First of all the staff here were so amazing. It’s a little quirky beach side resort not far from Rome airport. We chose this place as we had a car, wanted a pool or beach and had a flight out of Fiumicino airport the next day. The prices in Rome were astronomical during Sept for the value. On arrival we were treated like we were in a five star hotel. Luggage taken to the room in a golf cart and fantastic introduction to the property and included discounts with our rate. The room included two beach chairs and umbrella at their pool and beach club. Beach bar for aperitif and snacks and on site restaurant with equally good 5* service. The service maybe seemed too good for the place if I could say that. The room was clean and appropriate for a beach resort. Beds comfortable. Minibar stocked with free water and soft drinks. Free parking. The owner and staff were so amazing. Bending over backwards to be helpful. Truely amazing. 10/10

The resort gardens and pool are a little run down but the service more that makes up for it.

This is just the prettiest place with lovely friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. We stopped over after a cruise en route to the airport. Our room had everything we needed - staff even found an adapter plug when we realised we had forgotten ours. We usually only stay in 5 star accommodation and took a gamble - wow it paid off. This place was perfect! Amazing restaurant food, staff, location! We had a lovely evening under the stars with lovely food.

Nothing!

The place is beautiful. Extremely relaxing. Loved the swimming pool and grass area. The stuff is very nice and helpful at all times. We haven’t been to the sea as we had a 5 months old with us. However be aware that the sand is black as it is a feature of Ladispoli beach. The beach bar is really nice to have an aperitivo or coffee. The restaurant inside, is quite pricey, but both food and service are amazing. The resort is next to Ladispoli which is full of restaurants, bars, ice cream places to definitely try. Also, it’s a great spot to visit Rome from.

Mosquitos. I would recommend to add mosquitos nets to the windows of the rooms. Gardeners/cleaners at 11:30pm and 6:30am, they should do their jobs at different times.

My wife and I had a 10-day trip around Italy by car (Milan-Rome). During all this time, we stayed in 4 hotels (of approximately the same price level). This hotel (Riva di Palo) was the best of them all. There is a very large hotel garden area with lawn, pool lounges and sunbeds, as well as direct access to the beach/sea. the hotel room was spacious and tastefully decorated with its own outdoor table and chairs the hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive , especially Antonella who kindly helped us plan a visit to the most famous places in Rome. There is a free parking lot in the hotel territory. The train station Ladispoli is approx. 10 minutes' walk away. From there by train 30-40 minutes to the center of Rome. We will definitely choose this hotel on our next trip to Italy.

Everything. This is an oasis of calm after spending time in central Rome. Check-in was quick and efficient. The room wasn't quite ready so we were guided to the Beach bar for a complimentary drink and were called when we could access the room, which had been upgraded. The Beach bar, beach and pool are open all day. Food can be obtained from the Beach bar (reasonable prices) or the restaurant. The staff are very welcoming and professional. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed, good air conditioning, tea/coffee making, fridge and plenty of storage. The bathroom was large with a good shower. There is a very nice restaurant onsite which serves a good continental breakfast. We were fortunate to meet the owner, who was very welcoming. He is very proud of his hotel, as he should be. Directly outside the hotel are an abundance of bars and restaurants to choose from, all of which are very reasonably priced. There are also a couple of supermarkets a ten minute walk from the hotel. It is a forty minute train from Rome (€3) and an easy 20 minute stroll from Ladispoli station. The property only has around 25 rooms in a beautiful manicured garden of around 5 acres. There is a good sized pool on an ambient temperature with plenty of sunbeds, parasols and a shower. Walk out of the garden, past the hotel's beach bar to the private beach. Thank you to everyone at Riva Di Palo for making our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable. We will be back!

Having to leave!

Beautiful spot right on the sea. Well appointed and spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was lovely with fresh eggs and bacon, pastries, fresh juices - the blood orange was the family favorite. We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant next door with fresh seafood pasta and some of the best wine of our trip. My son even braved the cold water and swam in the sea. The black sand beach is stunning.

The pool and what looks like a hot tub from the photos is ice cold. The showers never got hot. It’s a tiny little town so not much to do if you stay longer.

Nice size room, very comfortable bed / pillow , Best of our trip. Staff was very helpful, Restaurant was excellent. The seafood risotto was wonderful. Our visit was in late October though considered off season, the beach access was easy, beach side bar was open. calm quiet beach, of course it was off season, very relaxing. Short drive with no traffic to the airport made it a great place to stay and decompress for few days before heading home.

We had a very pleasant stay at Riva di Palo. The rooms were very nice and clean. The breakfast buffet was good. The restaurant on site was also lovely for al fresco dining. Big swimming pool and nice beach bar on the hotel's private beach. Good location with direct access to a number of bars and restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The big swimming pool was otherwise great but it's of the same depth throughout (about 1m) and thus not that accessible for young children and people with mobility issues. Having a shallower area on one side would make it more accessible.

A beautiful oasis of serenity after a hectic few weeks travelling through Italy. Come for the calmness and relaxation before you depart for home. The staff are excellent and always willing to help.

Lack of taxi in Ladispoli not the fault of the Resort who assisted where they could. Prepare for a private driver to the airport and a walk from the train station. An airport shuttle minivan would be appreciated.

I’m so glad I booked a stay at Riva di Palo Resort. It’s a hidden gem! The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. The room was cozy and comfortable. The location is amazing (right on the beach, a short walk to the town centre and a 20 minute walk from the train station). I’d happily stay here again.

The breakfast options were a bit sparse, but great coffee!
