Staying here was truly dreamy. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, the common areas are thoughtfully designed and filled with carefully curated objects. Breakfast and coffee were delightful. The location is ideal for anyone who wants to visit multiple beaches/towns in the Salento region as both the Adriatic and lonian are easily accessible. A short drive from the city of Lecce and other Masserias for dinner options. Everyone on site were so kind and nice to talk to! We even loved hanging out with the all the friendly cats and dogs. We had a wonderful experience at this masseria in Italy, a place full of history and authentic charm. Every corner of the property is decorated with traditional and antique items that perfectly reflect the local culture and traditions. The atmosphere is truly magical. On the night we stayed, the owner organized a pizza evening, which was an absolute delight. My husband even had the chance to make his own pizza, adding a special touch to our experience. The pool is another highlight of the property, with a unique shape. Our little boy loved it and spent a lot of time playing there. Although there aren’t many restaurants nearby, the masseria is centrally located, making it easy to explore the surrounding beauty. For example, the stunning beaches of Porto Cesareo are just a 40-minute drive away. We recommend this masseria to anyone looking to experience authentic Italian hospitality in a charming and historical setting.

We had a fantastic time at Masseria Caretti Grande. The property is exceptionally beautiful - you can tell a lot of care and effort has gone into it. The staff were all very friendly - we dealt mostly with Vanessa who was lovely! The rooms were spotless and spacious. We were pleasantly surprised by the swimming pool which was larger and deeper than it appeared through the photos. The breakfast included a great variety of sweet and savoury food.

A gorgeous farm stay which offered peace and tranquility. We loved this property, Ana was extremely helpful, even sorting out our parking fines for us. The rooms were beautiful and the little dining room was so cute. We loved the cats & dogs who were very friendly and our 5 year old niece treated the cats like teddy bears and they weren’t a bit bothered. The pool was lovely and very welcome in the August heat. A little off the beaten track and if we stayed again we would plan a little better, but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Just that it was a little out of the way

It was wonderful! We felt very homey, we loved the Italian spirit that the Masseria radiated. Very friendly staff, Mrs. Ana showed us everything, unobtrusively advised us which beaches and cities to visit. The breakfast was super good, home products, freshly baked pastries and proper Italian coffee. The room was very clean and just the right size. The swimming pool was a real paradise for relaxation among palm trees and other greenery. Definitely the best accommodation if you want to relax and enjoy the peace.

The beds and the pillows are pretty hard. Loved having a light duvet but the mattress and pillow could definitely use improvement for the price. Also - I know it’s a farm and this is a personal note - running a tractor right outside the rooms at 8am is a bit much :) we are already awake but normal people aren’t haha Tell people they absolutely need a car - we had but just in case!

We had the pleasure of spending a night at Masseria Caretti Grande during our Italian adventure and were thoroughly enchanted by the experience. Initially, the drive from Bari might give an impression of heading into the 'middle of nowhere,' but that's where the magic starts unfolding. This place unveils an authentic and unspoiled side of Italy that's becoming rare in the tourist trail. The plethora of animals on the property added a fun element, making it an ideal spot for families. This place provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in true Italian culture amidst a rustic and tranquil setting. Highly recommended for a wholesome experience!

However, we faced a small issue during our stay - our room had quite a few mosquitoes which affected our sleep. Even though there were mosquito nets on the windows and doors, somehow mosquitoes got in. It might have been due to an open door or window before our arrival, we're not sure. It was an unfortunate downside on an otherwise fantastic stay. Nonetheless, the authenticity and charm of Masseria Caretti Grande outweighed this minor inconvenience, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We enjoyed the breakfast and the Masseria is very pretty and has a very nice and relaxing pool area. It’s quite close to Lecce but the nicest beaches are much further in the south.

The room was full of mosquitoes, we slept really badly as they would wake us when buzzing next to our ears. There was no mosquito net although there is a hook. They should really put up mosquito nets. We also would have preferred a room with the mezzanine, so maybe we could have been asked which room we preferred upon arrival, as several rooms were available. When booking, we don’t know exactly which room we will get.

Staff were so helpful. It was very clean. Special mention to the lovely cleaning ladies who went out of their way to help check us in early despite not speaking a word of English and us not speaking Italian. We turned up very early but they made sure we had our rooms

Masseria Caretti is a beautiful, peaceful space. We loved the pool and engaging with all the gorgeous dogs and cats on the Masseria as well. Everyone that works there ensures you feel welcome. I’d recommend anyone to stay here if you are journeying through Puglia.
