I have written reviews on Booking.com for a decade now, and approaching triple digits, but hardly ever do I give a place a 10/10 (I tend to be the over-critical reviewer lowering the score). But il Lago di Nemi deserves it - the location, the environment, the room (and spotless cleanliness), the friendly host, and more (location deserves mentioning twice - see the view from the terrace). In addition, the breakfast was spectacular; one of the best continentals I have had, eaten in the shade on the aforementioned terrace. One of few times, in my experience, when reality matches what was promised...

Some of the toiletries only just lasted, so more could be provided so one does not have to ration. But not the kind of issue that lowers the score. Could also be useful if having e.g. disposable slippers, for ease of going to the terrace or gardens in evening or morning (but not something you would expect). Also, to no fault of the accommodation but worth mentioning that both the Museo delle Navi Romane and the nearby (ruined) temple to Diana are currently closed (the museum until September 2025)...

One thing we noticed right away was that the owners do everything out of genuine love for what they do. Even before we arrived, we received a WhatsApp message from them with clear instructions on how to access the parking and the room. The place is simple yet amazing, and the owners are always smiling and happy to help with any question. There’s no doubt that if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll choose to stay at this hotel.

Il Lago di Nemi Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful place to stay for two nights, while visiting the Roman Naval Museum and the town of Nemi on the hill. Giuseppe and Alessia were wonderful hosts, very helpful and had lots of touring information. Giuseppe, in particular, recommended a visit to the ancient Temple of Diana, and gave accurate directions to find it on foot, as it was close by but hard to find. Breakfast was delicious, it filled every desire that one could have for a good meal. Awesome capuccino. My room was beautiful, peaceful, clean and comfortable. The Roman Naval Museum is a ten minute walk away. When I was high on the hill in Nemi, this hotel was easy to point out, with it’s large B & B in stone and heart shaped lawn. The garden is large and very comfortable.

The room had every comfort, except it did not have a chair, only a small stool.

Very clear and pleasant communication with Giuseppe with instructions for how to get the keys since we arrived late after regular check-in. The whole place felt very fresh, clean and modern. Nice rooftop terrace with view of the lake and the surrounding area. Marine museum is nearby, just 5-10 minutes away if you walk. The breakfast was great with a lot of choice and a much appreciated start of the day for us. Alessia was there to answer the questions we had and serve coffee. Kind hosts and they both speak excellent English. Grazie!

Very car dependant, we came by taxi and our next place to stay at was located in Nemi, so we walked up the mountain through a forest path which took around 45-60 min from the B&B. Which was all right for us. There's also a longer car road up to Nemi which is more accessible but takes longer to walk.

From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the warm welcome tranquility friendliness and all round high standard of the property. Lots of small details including home made cake, advice on where to go, history of the area and efforts to remember what we liked eg the type of coffee we each started the day with. The garden and grounds are well tended and the rooms comfortable clean with everything you need. We loved it here

Nothing at the b and b.

Our host Giuseppe was a very friendly, accommodating, and helpful host. We wanted to find a place that was within a 1 hour drive from the airport and would be quiet so we could rest but also close to restaurants etc. We were flying into Rome on a red-eye and asked if we could check in early and a room was made ready for us when we arrived. The facilities are wonderful, rooms were well appointed, very clean, and the bed was extra comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a many options. We hope to return on our way back home. Thank you!

If you’re looking for some serious peace and quiet, then staying here ticks the boxes ✅ The pebble beach and the marine museum are in very reasonable walking distance. The room was very clean, and comfortable. And the rooftop terrace was ideal for the supplied sumptuous breakfasts and the self-supplied wine cheese and cracker in the evening twilight.

You will definitely need a car if you want to explore beyond what is in walking distance. We did have a rental car so this was not an issue for us at all.

Giuseppe was the perfect host and he should be the high standard for other bed and breakfast. He was very helpful to us for travel ideas and his homemade breakfast with strawberry delights are to look forward to. We had to leave at 6:30 AM for an early flight out of Rome and he prepared a very thoughtful bagged breakfast for us in our refrigerator. Perfect!! The rooms and facilities are all new and beautifully well designed. You will not be disappointed. The view of the lake is beautiful.

This place is highly recommended. A lovely B&B in a beautiful location with great views from the property, especially from the rooftop terrace. The breakfasts are excellent with lots of choice, fruit, some of which is grown on the property, a choice of bread and cereals, yoghurt, cheese, charcuterie and home-made cakes. The building is nicely decorated with lots of thoughtful touches and it is very well kept. The nicest thing about the B&B, however, is the owners who are delightful and who go out of their way to help with any advice required or help needed. We would love to stay here again.
