As I didn't eat at the hotel, I cannot make any judgment about the food quality, but for me the access to several top onsen in the hotel, beside the several public ones in the town made my stay at the hotel very pleasant. One of them is even open all night long until 10AM. My traditional bedroom was also a strong point. At some point after I checked in, someone came and prepared my bed. The staff was very nice, and despite their limited English, made its utmost to serve me. The hotel is located within 5 minutes from a bus station, close to Awaraonsen and from which you can board a bus to Eihei-ji temple or Tojimbo in the other direction. If you wish to visit both places, you can buy a two day pass for this bus line.

A typical onsen hotel in Japan but multiple styles of bath rooms are available spread to three separate buildings.

No cold water fountain/service at each bath room. And, no free treats like small ice cream/candies, etc. which might be available other onsen hotels.

Wonderful breakfast with a top notch service. Breakfast time is checked while you have dinner the previous night.

Nothing, it was a wonderful experience and a perfect end to my day. Do be sure to check in before 7pm or you risk missing your dinner.

So much delicious food and comfortable onsen. Kind staff. Clean. Tojimbo Cliffs is easy to access via bus.

the onsen baths were nice. the location was convenient. It was quiet in the room. We had a non smoking room but could smell smoke sometimes coming from the hallway or another room.

The bathrooms are extremely small. It would be better to have the sink separate from the bath/toilet. One night, I tried to take a shower and the water never got hot. There was a tripping hazard at the front entry. I tripped and fell on my knee at the right of the front entry where the mid section slopes down (and the step appears). The step was only on the right side of the entry and blended in. We were disappointed that the hotel did not offer a Japanese breakfast.

VERY CONVENIANT TO TRAIN STATION FOOD WAS GOOD, THE WAITTRESS MADE THE EXPERIANCE GREAT. THE SUPPORT STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HAD GOOD ENGLISH SKILLS. THE DRIVER TO THE TAKKUBIN OFFICE WAS THE BEST EMPLOYEE THERE!! THE MANAGER WAS VERY ACCOMIDATING AND COULD SPEAK ENGLISH. THE PRICE FOR OUR STAY WAS GREAT

THE ENTIRE PROPERTY WAS NOT TOTALLY OPEN YET. THE FRONT DESK NEEDS TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO CAN COMMUNITE IN ENGLISH. AND NOT BE IMPATIENT BECAUSE WE DID NOT UNDERSTAND JAPANESE WELL. THERE WAS POOR SUPPORT FOR SENDING LUGGAGE TO ANOTHER HOTEL. THEY HAD NO PREPAID TAKKUBIN SERVICE AVAILABLE, THE FIRST IN TEN YEARS OF TRAVEL IN JAPAN. THEY ONLY OFFERRED C.O.D. SERVICE WHICH IS RATHER HARD IF YOU ARE NOT THERE TO RECEIVE THE DELIVERY!!!
