Japanese style breakfast, good quantity and variety; likewise dinner, very good quality and value.

We had a couple of days were we had to leave before they served breakfast to go on trips. I asked if it would be possible for them to make up some rice balls or such that we could keep in the fridge in our room overnight, but this was not possible. Western style beds in Japan tend to be extremely firm, so I had to use the duvets as a mattress topper. I would choose Japanese beds another time!

It was good place to go to the beach. The forest path was lovely. Breakfast is okay, the owners are kind. Okay place to stay one or two nights.

The room condition is a little running down. The washstand pipe was leaking to the room. In Our room, internet didn't work somehow. And we had a big spider in the room and a middle size spider with cobwebs near bed light. To turn on the bed light, I had to remove the cobwebs... Cleaning status wasn't match with Japanese standard, I felt. We have stayed 6 different accommodations on Yaeyama islands but the other places were much cleaner.

Breakfast was fine and the chef was very friendly and hospitable. Massage chair in the room and shower jets were a great addition!

The location wasn’t near much and I definitely needed a rental car to get there. The room is fine but a bit outdated. It feels like a nursing home. Thin walls and could hear my neighbor coughing all night. Overall, a decent hotel. WiFi was a bit slow.

Loved just about everything about this place: the location, the staff, the sounds & smells, the.... well, in truth, the island itself and the whole vibe. If you're visiting for the first time: This hotel is right on Ibaruma beach, a beautiful stretch of sand that was almost completely empty of other people during our stay and a lovely spot for snorkelling with abundant colourful fish in warm, waist-deep water. It is about a 20 minute drive north of the airport. There's very little up this far north (everything restaurant-y and shop-ish is located around the port in the south) so if you're up here for the peace and quiet, you'll get it. That being said, it is a small island and there are very few cars on the roads so it is a thing of nothing to pop down south of the airport, if you've got transport. The rooms look very much as in the photos. All nicely appointed. Lovely furnishings. Best showers I've ever used in my life. The photos of the outside of the rooms give the impression of something like a small US motel, but in fact it is nicer feeling than that. And the main building - with the restaurant bar and BBQ area - is very nice. Cool friendly cat wandering around the BBQ area at night, too. (The dogs were a bit too hot to be anything other than very sleepy, unfortunately.)

This is a small quibble but: being so close to the beach, and in such a great location, it is a shame that from the windows of the rooms, from the little verandas, one can only see the trees and bushes that "protect"(?) the guest house from the beach and sea and come up right to the veranda. Upon waking it is impossible to tell what the weather is, even. Ah well, wonderful place otherwise. Some reviewers are going a bit overboard when it comes to the breakfasts, too. They were nice. But pretty standard-ish for a Japanese place of this rank. Good stuff. But not mind-blowing. A bath in the room would be nice too, but the showers are possibly the best I've ever used. Thanks.

The location was amazing, right by the beach and staff were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was a traditional Japanese set meal and it was good.

The door had an autolock function and I was locked out. I had to enter the room from the balcony door.

Staff was really friendly. They helped us with anything we need. The breakfast was amazing and the location was grea.

I've stayed here before (you'll find my review somewhere on here) and I'll stay again. The breakfast is good, not "great". Others seem to be overpraising it. The location is fantastic. If you're looking for peace and quiet, that is.

Wish there were baths in the rooms.
