I had such a wonderful stay. The building is beautiful, designed in Vietnamese-style. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. I felt welcome. The remote location was refreshing after a long bike ride up the coast and around the cape, and I was able to store my bicycle inside. The traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner were truly remarkable. And the chef was able to accommodate my vegan diet. I was impressed with the presentation as much as the flavor. Just be sure to place your request the day before, because each meal is made to order. You can choose your dining time during check-in. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a small balcony and a lived-in, rustic charm that I loved. Notable details include: ornate wooden doors and accents, as well as wooden floors. There are vending machines stocked with beer, tea, snacks, and cup noodles. The laundry machines are free of charge. It was a terrific getaway and a much-needed chance to rest and recover. I highly recommend it!
I was hoping to catch a glimpse of a Japanese Rail (a near flightless bird), but they proved to be elusive. Perhaps the staff have some useful tips!? Of course, I didn't think of that until just now...

This place is perfect for any birdwatcher aiming at seeing the Okinawa endemics and who want to treat themselves with comfort. The Hotel location is quite remote, meaning that you can see Okinawa Rails sleeping opposite to the hotel, Okinawa Woodpeckers and Flying Fox feeding at the hotel’s entrance! This also means that for those without a car like myself, it can be difficult (but not impossible) to reach. You’ll get delicious Asian breakfast, and booking dinner was also a good idea because there are no restaurants in walking distance. The staff are very helpful and kind, making very worthwhile the experience. 10/10 recommend it.

Considering it's the only option in miles you'd expect it to take advantage of that but it was great. The receptionist was very nice and well exceeded my expectations by taking a few of us out a night to see a Okinawa rail. Full laundry facilities and a whole row of vending machines if you get desperate to eat something. The hotel has lots of solid wood fittings and feels like something from the peak real estate Showa-era - very rare anywhere else in Japan and was a pleasure to stay in. It is definitely showing it's age but I would 100% come back.
The hotel is old, and it does show in someways. Overall though the building has lots of charm and I didn't mind it being a bit older than most hotels.

The hotel is in the middle of jungle of Yanbaru National park. It is quite far away from Naha airport. It’s better if you rent a car. Taxi is quite expensive. There are buses from Naha airport in the morning till early afternoon but you might need to change 4-5 buses. The hotel itself is big, with balcony. The hotel is bit old but very clean. Everything works. You can have traditional Okinawa meals. The laundry and coffee is free in the main lobby. They have small pet pig, so cute. You can also watch for Kuina bird. They have electric bike for rent which was so good. I biked to Kujna center and saw Kuina bird. There is also a village close by and convenient store. The staffs are very nice.
Too far away from Naha airport but if you just want to be close to the nature, it’s not a big deal.

(1) A resort hotel-like option close to Yambaru National Park area. Laundry and dryer service available for free - with a free flow of laundry formulation to residents (2) The quality of Japanese style dinner and breakfast supplied (at extra charge) is superb. It uses ingredients sourced locally, and the preparation is straight from heart without preying on captive audiences (the nearest dining location outside of the hotel takes a 30 minute’s driving over rolling hills with occasional 10+% climbs, and a narrow Prefecture Route with no street lights) (3) Secure bicycle parking at the lobby level. The bike stand is right at the ground floor and under the main staircase

Location is super for exploring wildlife in the Yambaru National Park, and Okinawa Rails are literally wandering just aside the hotel! In the nighttime you can hear all three different species of owls calling nearby, and Okinawa Woodpeckers are also not hard to spot. Highly recommended for birders who will like to have a slow pace birdwatching vacation in search of the endemic wildlife’s of Okinawa. Equipments in the room are a bit old but is surely comfortable. Having a pet pig Haru in the hotel is surprisingly adorable. Beside that the closet convenient store being within a 30 minutes drive, there are actually quite a few local small supermarkets nearby within 10 minutes drive. Just check their openly times, which are mostly at daytime. Will recommend travelers to try out this local stores and give support to the local community. But most important of all, it was not that an inconvenient place as I originally expected.
Dinner is just ok, breakfast probably most impressed me by the pickled fish and the banana cake. If you plan to stay for more than one night, will recommend you to save other dinners for local cuisines that is within 30 minutes drive. Breakfast is a bit more challenging, so you might want to reserve more. But buying your breakfast in the previous day is always a good option.

Location is really nice. The hotel is situated in the middle of the national park, BUT: it is right in front of the road. At first, this made us completely disappointed, cause the pictures suggested it was in the middle of nowhere. But the road was barely used at night, making the place quiet enough. When I say quiet, I am referring to the sounds of civillization, because birds cry 24/7 as others mentioned in their reviews. Rooms (and we stayed in the most simple twin room) are quite nice with wooden floors and kind of antique'ish furniture. Note that the beds are not too long, probably about 185-190cm, which may be a problem for the taller visitors. Staff was helpful and guided us to the place with the local birds at dawn, lending a flashlight.
Beware of ants. Do not leave any food in your room, except in the fridge. Otherwise, ants will find it. It probably can't be helped as they are everywhere on this coast: roads, beaches - wherever you go, they are there. But it was not a nice surprise to see tiny ants attacking my laptop for some mysterious reason. The food is really simple. We did not like it at all, but I must admit it was more of a matter of our taste. There are local stores within 3-5 minutes by car, but the nearest restaurants are indeed quite far away. Therefore, it is still recommended to choose local breakfast and dinner if you don't want to drive half an hour one way for your meals.

Very curteous hotel personnel, clean and lovely room that is for sure a bid older, but with a lot of charme. The hotel has a very special location, away from most other facilities, making it a great place to spot stars at night. eBike rental was possible, though no western style eBikes - more basic ones. It is highly recommended to travel to this hotel by car, to make the most out of this great but remote location. Very nice beaches and river hike in bike distance.
Harder to reach by bus than expected, effort is made for the breakfast, but japanese style breakfast only was difficult to handle. It would be nice to have more vegetables at dinner

I chose this place for its remote location in the Yambaru Forest. It was also so close to the Yanbaru Kuina center. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional. I was even able to leave the doors open (they had screens) and could hear gentle forest noises all night. It was a great stay. And I was surprised by the pet teacup pig. He was my favorite! Very polite staff that were helpful.
If anything, the property is slightly dated, but it matches the forest vibe. Overall, I’d happily stay here again!

It's an old style hotel located close to the Yanbaru national park in leafy surrounds, a secluded atmosphere, far from the maddening crowds. The nearest scenic attraction is Cape Hedo the most northerly point of the island. Staff were good, the rooms were okay, but no room service, labeled bins are outside in the corridors for you to dispose of any rubbish, dinners had to be preordered, one choice, breakfast Japanese style only was tasty. There are vending machines on the ground floor where the laundry is situated which has beer, and non alcoholic drinks as well as a variety of chips, biscuits etc.
Because I was leaving early to drive a long distance the next morning I only wanted to bring a small beer from the vending machine to have with my dinner, but I wasn't permitted to do that and had to buy a large bottle from the hotel restaurant.
