Staff were very friendly and the buffet for dinner was fantastic.

There are no curtains on the windows so the lights from outside shine in the room until they’re turned off at 10:30pm. Also we were woken at 5:30 when the sun was coming up as it was so bright in the room. This makes it difficult when you have a child, so please add curtains to make the rooms dark.

I booked first a room for one person. When I added one more person to the room the room fee doubled. That seems to be unreasonable to me because only breakfast was included.

If you like the beach and being in a remote area then the location is good. There is also a restaurant that’s 5 minute drive from the hotel called Boss Surfdiner which is amazing!

1) Staff: the staff (especially the foreign staff) seem really detached, disinterested and unfriendly, as well as lacking in basic customer service skills. On our first night we asked if we could eat in the hotel restaurant and pay for it. The two young foreign night staff on reception told us the restaurant was fully booked even though the restaurant looked empty, however when my wife spoke to the senior Japanese staff member in the restaurant, he told us they had barely anybody eating in as the hotel is barely half full. In the end we decided to eat out and I’m so glad we did because we found a great restaurant 5 minutes away called Boss Surfdiner. Also, whilst we were at Bar Orca in the hotel, the female foreign staff member was sat on her phone. This also happened with the male staff member the following night in the bar and was even taking personal calls whilst working. 2) Aesthetic of the hotel is very old, worn down and tired. It feels like it’s a hotel that’s either under poor management or has just been forgotten about by the owners, or both. It seriously needs refurbishment as it still feels stuck in the 1990’s. 3) They could only clean the room once during our stay. Which if they are under staffed that’s absolutely fine and understandable, however the hotel only felt 10% full whilst we were there. 4) one of the staff members left the staff door open which revealed all of the futons piled on top of each other in quite a dirty and messy room. This would never be shown to guests in a hotel that cares about its customers.
