The service was excellent at Kilima. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed at meals or in the bar area. We had an issue with our washroom, and they quickly responded to fix the issue. Our beds were very comfortable, and the room was well designed with good spaces for luggage and organizing our items. We enjoyed the sunset and view of Mt Kilimanjaro from the view tower. We were happy with the location of the hotel. It was the first hotel down the road from the park entrance. We could see wildlife on and nearby the property.

While the buffet had many options, they sometimes ran low on some items and didn't refill the trays. Our room was very close to the main building and had some light foot traffic noises in the early morning (mostly luggage being rolled). The property seemed to have a lot of acreage, but didn't have clear paths to do a self-guided walk on the property. The pool area seemed to have some nice options that weren't available during our stay (a jet tube and possibly another bar). The cost of the airport transport and safaris were higher than the prices we found with other options in the area.

The Location, The Food, The “tents”.. I think for europe and us people really nice place to stay. If you want go for safari for whole day and you want have the best experience from Amboseli NP

There was a small miscomunnication between stuff and us but at the end we solve everything in a best way as we could so not bad experience after all, just a bit stresfull situations

The staff were very welcoming - the chef (Edward) catered for my 6 year old. The food on offer was fantastic. Our waiter (Dennis) was so friendly and caring. Jonathan accompanied us to Amboseli in our car to guide us around the park. The cleaning staff were very considerate of an elderly relative. The pool is a fantastic spot with views of Kili. The observation tower as well. It was great to see animals in the hotel grounds.

The Booking.com deal seemed to include water and soft beverages - but we were charged for these, which can really add up, as it's hot, and you need to drink water! In discussion with the hotel manager, and the reception (James especially) this was resolved in our case, but Booking.com should make clear if it's an inclusive holiday (i.e. all meals provided) whether it is going to be non-inclusive of any drinks. Wifi coverage is sparse, but this may be good thing!

message to the owner your staff are what make Kilima Safari Camp incredible, John, James, Pauline, Dennis and Richard. these smiles and making me welcome was highlight of my stay , including the incredible view of Kilimanjaro. I can’t express how impressed I was with these ones, please have initiative to have worker of the month displayed at reception.

to the owner please don’t keep profit before looking after your property. you have large dead yakka plants in pots that tell me does the owner care about the look of his safari camp. it’s tired and old looking reception is not inviting at all for first impression, the pool needed to be cleaned which seemed to be lacking. my room the face mirror fell off the wall on its on, then used toilet near bar area and the toilet holder fell onto the ground, my thoughts do they do regular checks and audit and maintain these aspects. also music playing was Elton John, it needed ambience and no local or African was played to add to the experience it was dull dining experience

Amazing location with quite some wildlife roaming around the site. The service to bring the guests back to their room at night, the pool, the viewing tower - all was brilliant!

It would have been great if there were gym facilities (weights + cardio) available.

Location, tents for accommodation, staff

They charge heavily for water in full board meal package at dining table which is annoying

Beautiful well-appointed room, well located just minutes from the park, extremely friendly and helpful staff, great drivers for the safari tours. I saw more elephants than I could have dreamed of in just two days. And the food was truly exceptional!

Tent got very hot during the day and took a while to cool off in the evening - to the point that it was too hot to take a nap. Ceiling fans might help.

The Kilima camp is very close to the main entrance of Amboseli, and is inside a compound that also features a small conference center. The dining hall is large and rather beautiful, with a comfortable bar located on the opposite site. There is a tower inside the dining area which, via several intermediate floors, leads up to a roof deck which offers a spectacular view over Amboseli and surrounding landscape. We really liked our spacious, almost luxurious tent, which featured a wooden sliding door and a large ensuite bathroom. In fact, it felt more like a house than a tent. The food was excellent throughout.

The drinks, which are charged for separately and have to be paid for in cash, are ever so slightly overpriced. Everything else was just perfect.

on arrival we were treated with a hot towel and a glass of juice, a lovely touch after a long journey. The staff were great! So friendly and very very helpful, and the food was fantastic! The room was lovely and spacious. we really appreciate all the staff did to make us feel welcome.

We were not told to pay by card at the national park entry or to take out passports. There is an extra charge of 15usd at the gate for the car and the guide, which we didn’t know until we got to the gate. It would be good to have an information sheet with all the costs and what you need to take with you at the hotel so that you don't feel caught off guard. Transfer cost to Emali and from Emali was very expensive, considering a tank of fuel is equivalent to USD6

We spent 2 nights at Kilima Camp and it was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, we felt surrounded by serenity, luxury, and the raw beauty of the African wilderness. The location? Breathtaking. Perched on the edge of Amboseli National Park, the camp offers uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The accommodation? Rustic elegance with comfort. Our tent was spacious, beautifully furnished, and immaculately clean. At night, we fell asleep to the soothing sounds of the African bush. The service? Warm, professional, and heartfelt. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was delicious — fresh, local, and beautifully presented. This was not just a stay, it was an experience. If you’re looking for a magical blend of adventure, relaxation, and stunning scenery, Kilima Camp is the place to be. We left with hearts full of wonder and memories to last a lifetime.
