The resort is really beautiful, not at all what you'd expect in rural Laos. The location just 800m off the Thakhek Loop and 60km into the route made it a perfect 1st night stop after visiting the Caves and Waterfalls between Nakai and Thakhek. It's super peaceful and we had a fab night's sleep meaning we were super fresh for the next day. Loads of room options, we chose a double room with shared bathroom, we got a free upgrade to one of the stunning bungalows. The staff greeted us with a cold water when we arrived and invited us to join the social area later in the evening. It was a really relaxed vibe, sharing stories of our travels so far and what we have planned was really nice. The restaurant on site is as authentic as the buildings, we even met the owners who also cook everything from scratch, use foraging and fish from their own land to make delicious meals. Breakfast recommend has to be the pancakes - not like any pancake you've ever had before and so filling you won't need to snack on anything until well past lunchtime. Really liked that they have a FREE water fountain you can refill - a big GREEN tick in a part.of the world where plastic is a BIG challenge. We were also told about a little known site just 5 minutes ride away to a now abandoned, previously government owned boat, the staff were really passionate about telling us the history of the resort and the boat, which made the visit there even more worthwhile.

The property is really extensive, not at all what we expected, we had booked a standard double with a shared bathroom and when we arrived we were given an upgrade which was a lovely surprise. There are so many room options catering for every type of traveller, from solo to families, to larger groups and having met so many people on our tour of South East Asia who have formed groups this is a great option. The hotel is only 800 metres off the main Thakhet Loop and we met many guests who were taking a well earned break from the road to recharge. There’s a lovely space outside reception where we could sit and share our travel stories with one another and exchange suggestions for places to visit. We visited in low season but it’s obvious how busy this place can get in high season making the cultural exchange opportunities endless. The grounds are beautiful with a real sense of being at one with nature, lawned areas, flowers everywhere and space for exercising and meditation/yoga which my wife was really glad to take advantage of in the early morning sun. The reception was clean and airy with an Honesty Fridge where you could help yourself to drinks and pay attention to checkout. The owner Bounlisth speaks fluent English, Thai and Laos and was really engaging, telling us about how he acquired the property and the plans he has to develop this amazing family-run resort, all of which sounds exciting. He was also keen to get feedback from us about any improvements he could make. There’s also an onsite restaurant serving Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner with a great choice to cater for every taste. All the food is prepared onsite from scratch by the owners wife and her team, we couldn’t finish ours as the portions were so generous. Tours and Experiences- the owner offers a couple of different tours, including Sunset and Fishing (so many lakes/rivers nearby).

The property is great and has boundless potential and Boulisth’s passion to develop his property is so evident. When he asked for feedback we jokingly said a Swimming Pool, and in fact he said this was something he was looking into.

The staff was welcoming and kind and gave us great information about some of the spots to visit in the region and about road closures. The room was nice and the resort felt very safe. The food at the restaurant was well prepared.

We were a bit disappointed with the room allocation. The family in the room next to ours (with young kids) was particularly noisy from early in the morning. As the resort was almost empty, it would have been more considerate to space out guests across the property to allow for a more peaceful and intimate experience.

Spacious room with a big bed. You can park a bike or car under the room to keep it dry and there was a restaurant on site which we were very grateful for as we turned up quite late after our first day on the loop. Donna and Jack were incredibly helpful and friendly, our shower didn’t have any hot water and they sorted it straight away letting us use another room whilst they got it fixed. Breakfast was lovely and very affordable in the morning before setting off for our second day on the loop.

There was one cockroach in the room but we are used to that by now after traveling SEA.

This hotel is run by a lovely family with cute and respectful kids. We had a very pleasant stay, and the owner upgraded us to a higher standard at no charge since the hotel was empty. In the morning, we were treated to a free coffee. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and clean. The AC and wifi were working, and we also received towels and basic shower supplies. The hotel itself is beautiful and serene. All in all, recommended!

The restaurant was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious.

Location for stopping off for a night while doing the loop. The restaurant on site serves til 9pm so if arriving later than expected can still get something to eat and a good selection of dishes. The area is nice and quiet so can sit in the garden with the fire going late into the night. The gentleman on reception helped with a few issues we had with no issues.

Spacious room, beautiful complex with lovely gardens, and a lake at the back of the property. Great restaurant nearby with a large menu, local and western food

There was no one around to serve breakfast, we had to wait for a long while and walk around the complex trying to find the staff. They did not speak any English so it was quite difficult to communicate with them. (When we checked in though, there was foreign staff at the reception counter)

The staff and owners were so lovely and very helpful with planning what to do on the loop. We had some drinks and spent some of our evening with them which was nice as you don't tend to get that with other hostels/resorts. The food was delicious and I had a very pleasant sleep so I don't have any complaints! Thank you so much for having me!

Nothing! I had a great stay and would come back again.
