Prepare for paradise! We came from a dusty stay in the Agafay desert and walking through the grand doors of the Capaldi we found a true oasis with stunning gardens and two lovely pools (importantly for the winter months, one is heated). You can do as much or as little as you like here, with thoughtful touches such as a badminton court which we enjoyed in the afternoons, a small gym and even a croquet lawn. There are two rooftop terraces from which to watch the stunning sunsets and if you get up early enough the sunrise over the Atlas Mountains is unforgettable. The food at the Capaldi restaurant is A-MA-ZING. Each night there is a choice of 3 menus accompanies by (surprisingly) lovely Moroccan wines and inviting open fires. Each meal we had was flawless and easily rivalled the best meals we’ve had in the UK. Staff service is impeccable, from the gardeners and cleaners to the waiters and receptionists. Special mention must go to the wonderful and kind Carol(e) who went well out of her way (literally on two occasions) to make us feel welcome and part of the family. We visited in February which I highly recommend as the days are warm enough for tanning and flip flops, with colder evenings made snuggly by cosy fires in each of the rooms and throughout the hotel. There are plenty of activities to do from the hotel such as camel rides, dune buggying, guided hikes and cycle rides and there is a lovely lake with good restaurants about 50 minutes walk from the hotel through neighbouring villages. I highly recommend a visit to the nearby Jarjeer donkey sanctuary as the work they are doing there for animals in need is humbling. Highly recommend getting a room with a view such as the Atlas room or one with an elevated terrace to truly enjoy the vistas.

Only minor suggestions - It would’ve been nice to have water refill stations and large glass water bottles in the rooms to save plastic, and perhaps some hotel bikes for short sight-seeing journeys.

Capaldi is a lovely peaceful paradise. It felt like a home from home and had such an authentic charm. We spent a tranquil 3 days there. Each and every one of the staff were fantastic. The service was excellent and we were blown away by the warm welcome we received throughout from their hospitality manager who made the trip feel so special. The hotel itself is stunning. It has everything you could need ranging from a beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, stunning grounds with olive trees lining the pathways, a gym, cinema, spa and library. The restaurant also blew our socks off. We ate all 3 meals each day there and the menu changed each day. The dinners in particular were cooked to a fine dining standard and we had two evenings with tasting menus which were both memorable for us as two of the best meals we have ever had. It is truly such a special place. We also did a half day hiking trip to the mountains with a guide called Latifa who was fantastic and gave us a true insight into life for the berbers living in the mountains and we really enjoyed the hike which was tailored to our fitness. We are already planning our next trip to Capaldi next year. What a special place!

We couldn't fault it!

The location is so quiet and peaceful. All the staff were so warm and welcoming, especially the manager Carole was exceptionally friendly, she gave us a tour and spoke to us with so much interest and enthusiasm. It felt like she was really looking out for us.We loved our room as it was so beautifully decorated and fitted into the setting so so well, with Berber art tastefully decorating the room. The food was my personal highlight, so delicious and so unbelievably adorable. The breakfast in particular was delicious with fresh fruit and breads with eggs cooked however you liked! The spa was also a really worthwhile experience and really helped kickstart vacation mode! We didn’t leave the property the entire time but if we stayed longer we undoubtedly would’ve taken one or more of the trips advertised! The Capaldi is a gem and it’s staff are so wonderful. I’d highly recommend anyone who is interested in a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh.

Maybe if they asked us more often if we wanted a drink by the pool. But I really didn’t mind the short walk to the restaurant bar. But this is being super nitpicky.

Everything is wonderful about this property. Carol who is front of House could not have been more helpful and kind and made us really welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms are lovely and very Moroccan, the food is absolutely delicious and the pool and gardens were heavenly. There is a large pool that is not heated which was definitely warm enough and then there is a smaller pool which is heated. There are Lots of different seating areas if you want to get away from people. We took two trips out. The first one was a hike up into the mountains with a brilliant guide which was absolutely fascinating and then we walked to the lake nearby and had a coffee the next day. Both trips well worth doing. It is so close to Marrakesh Airport that one could easily do a three or four nights stay without feeling that you have spent loads of time travelling. We looked at one of the villas before we left, which was amazing and we are thinking about taking that with friends for our next visit. Thank you, Ed and Tara, and the team 🙏

The staff were all friendly and helpful, the rooms were great and dinner was delicious every night. The spaces around the pools were lovely and the views were beautiful. It was totally relaxing and a wonderful escape from UK preparations for Christmas. The guide the hotel organised to take us up into the mountains was excellent. The hotel taxi which met us at the airport was a godsend as the horrendous queue to get through passports made us very late.

Very relaxing with lovely gardens and pool area. Beds were very comfortable. We had two very enjoyable dinners at the restaurant. Breakfast was simple but good. I chose the hotel in order to relax and chill out. It is perfect for this. I stayed at the hotel in 2019 and preferred the wider food selection on offer at dinner in the restaurant and I felt the service was more attentive, particularly during breakfast or during the day when wanting to order drinks.

Beautiful place with great staff, lovely grounds, good room and excellent food. The remote location was a plus and a minus depending on how you looked at it. If you want to get away from it all this is a good place to do it.

Being a bit picky the rooster next door could have operated less antisocial hours but if you're in the country you have to accept such things

The grounds of the Capaldi were absolutely beautiful. Once you walk past the main entrance, you’re welcomed with the pool and the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. It’s totally a place to relax and unwind, and a great retreat away from the bustle of Marrakesh. Funnily was here for a couple of nights in late November and was the only guest there for 1 night (which was rare). Very much appreciated the private experience I got during dinner. A big shout out to Carol, who’s the manager there and is so lovely ensuring everything was going well. Very much enjoyed the food, as expected, it’s more white table cloth dining. Very minor but would liked to have seen more Moroccan dishes though. Overall, would recommend the Capaldi for a relaxing escape from the city.

Having spent the first week of our holiday touring, we chose to spend our last days at the Capaldi to relax, and that is exactly what we did. It was a peaceful retreat amongst olive trees, very private, beautiful swimming pools and gardens. The setting of the restaurant lovely. On departure we had a late flight, and the hotel very kindly allowed us to keep our room.

Constructive comments. For a 5 star hotel, there were no sweeteners, my husband is diabetic. Morocco is known for their delicious oranges. In all the other properties we stayed at, including the dessert, we were served fresh orange juice at breakfast. Not at the Capaldi, and when we asked for fresh orange we were told it was not possible. No nuts or nibbles available when you have a drink. Lots of chipped china. These are small issues that can be so easily be fixed, but irritating when you are staying in a 5 star property. However we did not let any of this spoil our stay, and we would definitely return.

From the moment we arrived, the exceptional welcome and ambiance of this hotel were immediately evident. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and their service and friendliness were outstanding. The hotel itself is stunning, and the culinary experience is second to none. Each night, the menu presented new, even more delectable choices than the night before. We highly recommend arranging trips through the hotel. One particularly memorable experience was a humbling hiking trip to the Atlas Mountains. Despite not being severely affected by the earthquake, the hotel's owner, Ed, maintains high ethical standards and is deeply committed to supporting the local community. This commitment was also echoed by our wonderful guide, Latifa, who spoke very highly of The Capaldi and the support they provide to locals. Our brief interaction with Ed, the owner, made it clear that he is genuinely dedicated to both the local community and offering authentic experiences to his guests. A highlight of our stay was sharing tea with a local family in the mountains. Witnessing the aftermath of the devastation was heartrending, but the resilience and warm hospitality of the mountain people were incredibly moving. This part of our stay was truly unforgettable and comes highly recommended. Overall, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of amazing. It's a must-visit for those seeking a blend of luxury, cultural immersion, and genuine care for local communities.

Our stay was flawless; there wasn't a single aspect we didn't adore
