We were on prospecting tour this year and looking for new locations to visit Namibia with small groups. This lodge is ideally located for those passing through. price/quality ideal. rooms are basic but large and there is everything you need the lodge is about a 20-minute drive from the wild horse viewing point. Very nice, cosy bar. Nice food. Good breakfast.

From the first moment at reception, you feel welcomed by friendly, smiling staff. Even though it was clearly a more quiet week for them, they remained attentive and considerate. The rooms are huge, beds comfortable and facilities good. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Dinner takes a bit longer, because they make everything from scratch, but the dinner rolls and great drinks from the bar helped a lot.

The lowest setting on the fan was quite overpowering already, in terms of noise especially. It was great to have a fan, but anything hair would have been too much. Also, the noise from the road is quite something - especially trucks have to change gears and accelerate right in front of the hotel.

The staff, the staff, the staff!!! They were so friendly and helpful. 3/4 of us came down with food poisoning (from a different location) and the staff were so understanding. I tried to have dinner that evening, and decided to share a salad with my friend. The salad was split and beautifully arranged on two plates - at no extra cost. Later that evening, two staff members did the rounds with hot water bottles for our beds, which was most welcome. If the opportunity presents itself, we will be back.

The passage in the hotel lacks a bit of warmth and light. The wooden floors in the rooms are rather noisy (especially if you have to dash to the loo every half hour or so!) and the bathroom door in our room was a bit swollen and difficult to open and close quietly.

Everything was well-managed from our check-in to our check-out. The staff, especially David, Jerome and the manager, is very friendly and were tuned into our needs. I suggest to stay for dinner - it was absolutely fantastic, and the portions are quite large. The Beefy Burger and Steak is recommended. A chocolate is placed on your bed with the turn-down services. Please support this hotel, especially the bar and their restaurant- you will not be disappointed. We will book again for sure!

No air-conditioned room, only a fan. Did not help much in 37 degrees.

A stay at the Bahnhof Hotel in Aus is a complete experience and I can write an entire essay about it - it was just that good. We stayed there two years ago for one night and this year for thee nights and the experience remains unexpected and truly amazing. It's an old school country hotel, very neat and very well maintained. Everybody is involved in making a guest's stay a remarkable one - all the way from management right down to the cleaners 24/7. If you want information on the area, just ask, they have the real answers. Aus is a great base from which to explore the area. The food is always of the best and there are too many choices to mention. I must however point out that by not having a slice of cake whilst there you will be missing out on something very special.

No real negatives

Its location at the fringes of the desertic expanse just before dipping into the emptiness towards Lüderitz is good. Good spot to stay a night when coming from the long drive from Sesriem. Nice restaurant!

The hallway leading to the rooms is somewhat, particularly when groups without consideration for othe guests speak loudly among themselves or when on a phone

The location is really good. And the hotel has its own restaurant that serves really good food at a good price. The staff was just lovely and polite. We could explore the area that has wonderful landscapes and some turística points are reachable with some drive, but it is worth it

If you are a morning shower type of person, do it as soon as possible or you can without warm water.

Old but nice and authentic Building from 1906. Perfectly clean facilities and friendly staff. We also liked the little Beergarden in the backyard. Breakfast and Dinner was very good.

For us it was no problem at all (keyword authenticity) but there is no internet and no tv in the room. You can ask for W-LAN at the front desk and you will have reception at the restaurant.

Charming hotel at the quiet edge of the small village of Aus. Rooms are basic, but OK. Good quality of the beds. Friendly staff, helpful to address any problem. Good restaurant at the premises. Secured parking lot behind the building.

It was very cold at night when we stayed in the hotel mid september. The small heating device in the room did not help. Also in the restaurant, it was chilly, the gas-heating unit was insufficient to create a pleasant temperature. Take warm pyjamas when you stay there during winter or sprintime !!

Generally the hotel was fine and lived up to our expectations, especially as we stayed there in 2016.

Although it is winter in Namibia, nothing had been done to alleviate the cold in the night time. Unfortunately our room had an outside door. The second night was more comfortable as we had extra blankets. However the dining room was very cold, even the staff were wearing outside clothes. One night there was party in and we were relegated to a table just inside the door, which was even colder, everytime the door was opened or left open.
