Overall I really liked this hotel. The location is good - walking distance from Emmen station or there's also a bus stop right outside. The staff are very friendly, the decor of the hotel is really nice and I had had all the amenities I needed (comfy bed, good shower, reliable Wifi). I also thought the breakfast had a really good selection and was reasonably priced as hotel breakfasts go.

My only criticism is that there didn't seem to be a way to change the room temperature (unless I missed something), and with it being October it was quite cold in the room - meaning I ended up wearing a long-sleeve t-shirt and socks to bed. I only stayed one night but this probably would've been a bigger irritation for a longer stay.

The room was clean and modern. I was even given prior warning that during my stay and event was on in their function room, but likely I would not be bothered by the noise. I wasn't bothered by the noise. The location is very good for using the facilities in Emmen town centre. All within walking distance. The bar/terrace was very good and the breakfast selection was also very good.

The gym could be more modern and have some a slightly better selection for some of the training equipment. Having a smart TV which you can use your apps on would be a good idea as this is now a standard feature in other hotels.

It was a good size, well-designed and comfortable. We were a family of 3 and could move around easily. It was over the road from the Lidl Grocery shop and close to the bus stops. We walked to town from the Hotel. A beautiful setting.

It did not have a kettle to make some coffee or tea. Breakfast was not included, and the Rand/Euro is hectic, so we could not eat at the hotel.

Conveniently located at a short distance from the railway station. shops nearby (a Lidl just across the street), coffee shops, restaurants. The room was of a decent size, easily accomodating 3 people. The overhead bed is a great feature. Selection of pillows available on request. The restaurant was very nice, a bit pricey. Breakfast buffet suits many preferences.

Bathroom could have been cleaned better (found hair in the sink) but not a major setback.

I really liked the idea of having a little tea-coffee corner in the room. The bed was extra comfortable and I loved the idea of the slippers that were made in a way of helping the environment. The amount of variation of the food at breakfast was really good. The armchair in the room was really comfortable.

It was a bit cold in the room after a while. While I was sleeping I did not feel cold, but the slippers were an excellent idea. I missed the option of having bathrobes in the rooms, but it was not necessary. The chair was not as comfortable as the armchair.

Ease of check in , considering we were early arriving, the rooms were excellent as were the staff nothing was to much trouble to make our stay enjoyable, the breakfast you could not fault along with the excellent food in the restaurant, looking forward to staying again ,

Great staff, very clean and a good restaurant

The rooms were a bit out of date. The bathroom was not great, you had to step up into a bath to have a shower and this was not ideal

Good location, friendly staff. I really liked that there is a recreation area outside, if you live on the first floor. On the upper floors there is a balcony.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, but overall I liked everything.

Creative, thoughtful and unique design, from the furniture in the room (loft bed for our children, for example), to the beautiful garden at the restaurant, to the colorful artwork in the hallways and on the exterior… Unforgettable facility. And very clean!

The sofa bed had evidence of staining but otherwise we found the hotel spotless and were completely comfortable.

The Ten Cate was a great stop off for our holiday. The staff were lovely helpful and very friendly, nothing too much trouble. They were very good with our big party of 10 people and managed to fit us in for dinner even though we had not booked. Thank you all very much. Hope we will see you again!
