mostly clean, at the beach, quiet, air conditioned! really impressive that they have this resort at all on such a remote pet of the island! it’s easy to criticize that this should be better or that but it’s really cool to have all these mod cons here.

as everyone else has said the price of the restaurant is high!

The location was excellent over looking the beach. The staff are all local ladies and they are lovely all very friendly and do their very best to speak English. Actually all the little villages we drove through all the locals were very happy to give you a smile and a wave. The food was very good, usually a buffet and a good choice of drinks. Room was quite comfortable and clean.

You have to remember this is quite an isolated area. The Resort had good facilities like tennis court, putt putt golf, volleyball court etc but they have not been kept up over the years, which I feel is a shame, if they were it might encourage even more locals to use them.

The Hotel is set on beautiful grounds amongst the palm trees with the water a few metres from our bungalow. The room was colourful and spacious and great hot water shower.

We opted to have dinner the first night. Most of the food was tasteless and the warm selections were cold. There was a lot to choose from so it would cover most tastes, but the vegetables were over cooked. We also decided to try the breakfast, American they advertised, but again the hot food was cold and lying in so much oil. There was a mixture of the over cooked vegetables over from the night before which were lying in oil. There was not much fresh fruit, but we understand that is a seasonal problem. We decided to not have any more meals there as they were expensive for what was on offer.

A really lovely little spot just out of Hienghène, with plenty of amenities for everyone (lots of family friendly things to do like mini golf, there's a playground, etc) but also spread out enough that if you don't have children, you don't have to be around children all the time. It's great having the beach nearby, and but a good pool too. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Bungalows were also quite big and had a mini fridge, as well as a little deck out the back for you to sit on.

The only food option for dinner is a buffet, which while the food was alright, seemed pretty expensive (but so is the price of food in general!).

We stayed at one of the cabins facing the beach. It was clean and comfortable. It also had 2 lounge chairs facing the water which was great, and we managed to spot 2 dolphins while relaxing. We did not swim but the water felt warm when we walked at the beach, and there was one person snorkeling for a while, so assuming there were fish in the lagoon. We did not have breakfast (buffet only) at the hotel as we were pleased to eat the nice baguette sandwiches from Mobil petrol station (delicious and cheap, believe it or not). For dinner a lá carte seems to have replaced the Buffett, perhaps because the hotel was fairly empty. The food was not cheap but the portion was generous and it was tasty.

Overall good value for money. It would have been nice to be able to get into our cabin when we got to the hotel 1 1/2 hours before check in. Understand there are rules, but the hotel was so empty so hard to believe our cabin was not ready. Most hotels we’ve been too offer early check in when rooms are available.

Great location by the ocean with plenty of bungalows for guests and an extensive property with space for sporting activities such as a basketball court, tennis court, volleyball field, and mini-golf with sports equipment provided by the staff for free. The buffet dinner was the highlight!

If you're travelling from Noumea or the airport, it's a decent drive - 4-5 hours - so ensure you have transport, a playlist and do enjoy the ride. Noticed an airstrip about 30 minutes from the hotel, might also be an option for those who prefer to fly.

Our bungalow was very comfortable and spacious, nice deck too. Staff very helpful and accomodating. The location was great, it was on the beach, and close proximity to the diving centre. The diving centre Babou was also very friendly and the dives we did were exceptional. Excellent base to further explore the north.

It was quite windy when we visited making it difficult to swim from the beach. We didn't try the pool which was quite small.

Great location for sightseeing around the local area and comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quite a few interesting local tours on offer. The food quality from the A la carte menu was outstanding! Excellent chef! We did not try the fixed price smorgasbord dinners as we thought quite expensive when we do not eat a lot and one of us is vegetarian.

Food choices were limited. The property is isolated so you should bring what you may need with you. We did not have a car but the hotel kindly offered to drive us to the village store, with some great sightseeing on the way. Much appreciated!

A beautiful location in Kouloune Village at Hienghene - our bungalows were right on the beach and featured heated outdoor spas. This hotel was once a Club Med resort and its facilities, except for the bungalows, are now quite tired and run down but still serviceable - there was a tennis court, volleyball court and a very basic mini golf goat-track. The pool was clean and very good. There is a lot to see and do in and around Hienghene and this is a good place to stay.

The restaurant menu was limited and the food was average - we chose to have both breakfast and dinner out in Hienghene on our second night which sums it up. The staff speak little to no English and cannot help with much other than checking you in and printing out the bill.

The hotel has fantastic location, decent snorkeling straight from the hotel. Also very close to the local tribe - where you can buy fresh fruit, or just interact. We stayed in the refurbished bungalows which were comfortable. Food from the menu was very tasty and well prepared. I’m not a big fan of buffets, which were offered over the weekend and public holidays - the buffet also looked good, just not my kind of experience. Great hotel for families, so much to do with children - not just swimming. I recommend speaking even very basic french.

The pool has seen its best time. Ok to swim, you just need to be mindful about loosen tiles.
