Great place - the hotel is fantastic and that’s not only because of the great history, the furniture, the old pictures let the development staying alive. The room was nice and the view outside with all the water and mountains amazing.

It would have been good to know that you should book a table for dinner early, we checked in at 3 pm, nobody told us and when we wanted to have dinner at about 6 the restaurant was crowded and it was impossible to get a table.

What a grand old hotel. It is stunningly beautiful, and perfectly located at one end of famous Sjøgata. My room looked out over the little hotel garden with beautiful lights decorating the trees, and the river just behind it. Very tranquil. My single room was reachable through a sort of rustic vestibule decorated with beautiful old furniture. There was a staircase down to the main restaurant, where soft piano music came up. Very nice, I liked to sit and listen. My room was actually 3 rooms, an antechamber, a main room with dresser and armchair, and the bedroom. I'm impressed. Bathroom was spaceous. The hotel offers multiple restaurants and bars, including a cocktail bar. Staff was very friendly, Breakfast was rich with everything from cereals to mini pancakes.

Really liked the historical site this is, and how the hotel has been able to take care of the past although it's a relatively modern hotel. Really nice and likable place with several smaller buildings. The surroundings were fantastic. Close to the river and to all the local small wooden houses. Also, the Tesla Supercharging area just outside the hotel.

Historical hotel, well restored and updated, informative displays about history, 5-star for breakfast buffet (included) and dinner, reasonable walk from train station, easy to enjoy local galleries, museums, stores and restaurants (loved Unami) and easy to get to trail built by Sherpas. Receptionists friendly and helpful.

No dislikes.

The location was great. On the river with easy walking to shopping and restaurants. Our room was charming and large with a seating area with a couch. The breakfasts were wonderful.

We were on the second floor and while there was an elevator in the building, the elevator didn’t access our floor.

as the hotel had few guests, it was disappointing that the “superior” room we were allocated was at the furthest end of the top floor looking over the carpark! A river view on the other side of the corridor would have been preferable. Had we done something wrong? in contrast we’ve just stayed at the Rognan Hotel, also few guests at present but we where given one of their best rooms overlooking the fjord. different hoteliers, different attitudes.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed dinners in both the bar restaurant and also in the Ellen restaurant. Location was good, a short walk to Mosjøen center or to cross the bridge and walk or hike.

A beautiful town and the hotel is in an ideal location. It’s being renovated and our room was freshly decorated and well proportioned. Bar was excellent and the “small plates” well beyond expectation.

Our quick stay at Fru Haugans in Mosjøen was a one-night stopover, but it was our favorite stay of the whole trip! We simply wish we had allocated more time, even if just to have a lovely extra night of sleep. The hotel itself was delightful, with an excellent mix of history and modern amenities and comforts. We had a beautiful view overlooking the water and the most peaceful night of sleep during our travels. Hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful, our room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, we had an excellent breakfast in the morning, and were very happy with the on-site bar for an evening night-cap!

Lovely view. Awesome friendly staff. Great breakfast. Refrigerator . Elevator. Iron. Tea kettle. Out side sitting area fantastic. Fabulous windows.
