The hytte ,whilst basic, was clean, warm and full of Nordic charm. We had a beautiful view over the lake and the ski runs beyond. The ski bus was efficient and regular and was an easy 10-15 mins ride to the ski lifts.

We were in one of the older cabins and the double bed, which forms the bottom of the bunk, is very small, so better for one person. My husband is very tall so it was a bit of a squeeze for him! This was not unexpected and did not spoil our stay, but next time we would try to book one of the newer cabins which I believe have somewhat bigger beds!

We loved the location, only 2km from Trysil town & 5km to the ski lifts, with a rental car it was perfect. The location is rural, next to a river, the mountain & just perfect. The snow laden area was magical. The cottage/chalet is very basic but just perfect for a family going self catering and just needing their own space, very warm and dry. We really had an amazing time and would recommend the Hyttegrend to any family wanting a relaxing country/ski break.

Potentially the owner being onsite more for questions, the reception seemed to be closed most of the time. Also, we did the long 5.7km hike in the snow, maybe some snowshoes to rent or warning of how deep and hard it is to walk up on the mountain. It took my wife and I, who are very fit, 1hr45 mins to do the walk in knee deep snow. 5.7km in deep snow ain't for the faint hearted. Potentially the linen if pre-booked to be fitted on the mattresses and duvets to help, it's a large additional fee. Potentially an oven big enough to do pizzas, we had tons of pasta as boiling was the best option.

The heating system in the cottage functions efficiently, ensuring a comfortable stay. The breathtaking view from the cottage, particularly from the bedroom windows, adds to the overall experience. Despite heavy solar activity during our stay, we were unfortunate with cloudy nights, hindering our chances of witnessing the aurora. However, the cottage's location is convenient, situated just 2km from the city center where restaurants, supermarkets, and the ski bus stop are easily accessible. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable, and the cottage came fully furnished. Evander, our host, was pleasant and addressed all our queries upon arrival.

Upon arrival, we noticed a lack of basic necessities such as dishwashing sponge and toilet paper, which would have been helpful and saved us from purchasing them in bulk. Additionally, the placement of the TV was not ideal for comfortable viewing from the couch, unless one is watching alone and lying down.

It was like camping in winter with enough warmth in your cabin. Small but very cosy and everything was there in the kitchen. For a couple, you have to know that sleeping together is only possible in the bed below that is very small. we didn't mind, as in the tent we also sleep close to each other. Location was maybe not closeby the centre, but a beautiful view was worth enough. Very practical to store all your luggage. Owner was very helpfull.

Because it is small and everything is there, there was not much space left for passing each other in the room. But not a big issue with beautifull weather and sitting outside.

we stayed in two cabins overlooking the lake, the views were incredible, the price was amazing for Norway, everything was exceptionally clean, we loved the cosy sauna and log burners plus we were really close to Trysil ski resort! We were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on our last night!

That we couldn't stay for longer!

This was our 2nd time to this exact same cabin. It's in a great location with a view of the river and ski mountain in the distance. The cabin is simple but new and modern and comfortable for a family of 4. I highly recommend it if you want something simple and you don't want fancy and luxurious.

A clean, comfortable, compact cabin in a lovely spot near the river. Our cabin had a nice view. It's a few km from the skiing but there's a ski bus from the front door and it's not too far from the town centre for the amenities there. For 3-4 people it was a good option, and relatively good value in terms of Trysil prices. Would definitely go back.

The kitchen area and bathroom are quite small and basic - they were fine for us, though.

Everything was great. We stayed 3 nights. We received better cabin with great view on the river because it was available (off season). Very good communication. Also used wood burning sauna - wonderful experience. Just for ourselves. We were also allowed to check out later. Great place, great people.

Wi-Fi did not reach to the cabin.

We stayed only one night, but we liked this place. The camping is on a green hill along a river, with mountainview. The cabins are situated low (less eveningsun) and high (sun till late). Our cabin was simple, but cosy and complete, with even an oven and microwave. The kitchen is small, but what you need is there. In the surroundings are a lot of moose, if you are lucky you can spot them late in the evening. Evander, thank you very much for the upgrade to "Klara", a good cabin on a beautiful spot! Very nice cabin and clean. The kitchen is good and equiped with what you need. Fireplace is very cozy. Firewood was also given to us. staff is very friendly and helpfull. It was warm and comfortable even though it was very cold outside. its parking outside the cabin.

not much to complain about. we were cleaning after our stay, but it was missing some washing equipments. not sure if we was suppose to buy that ourself. we also booked the sauna. it was hot to begin with, but -20 c outside so it was hard to keep it warm, maybe we did something wrong :)
