I would rate LUX Saint Gilles Resort to 20 points if it would be possible. Very relaxed, quiet, enjoyable place with very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, and a very good location. Many thanks for the excellent musical entertainment in the evenings. We got into a medical emergency situation during our stay and all members of the staff were very helpful and supportive. We are especially grateful to the director of the resort, Mr. Patrice Hudebine and Ms. Julie Hauer, guest relations manager for their kindness and extraordinary help. We recommend LUX full heartedly for all who are looking for enjoyable relaxation in Reunion.

Perfectly situated by the beach with an amazing pool. We had a great time at the LUX. Everyone we met was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed our room with a great view on a gazebo and the ocean in the background. The food was excellent across the massive breakfast buffet and different restaurants for dinner. Special mention for the Carry’s bar (especially canard à la vanille and Rougail saucisse) as well as the Rougail citron dessert.

Hard to find something to mention. To be picky, we would have like a drink included in the half board dinner (soft, glass of wine).

The beach itself was breathtaking, with immaculately maintained sunbeds always available. The location was perfect - just a leisurely 30-minute stroll to L'Ermitage for some shopping or a picturesque walk along the beach under the shade of the trees. The housekeeping staff were truly exceptional, providing top-notch service with a smile. And the dinner? Delicious!

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel fell short of expectations. The reception staff seemed unwelcoming and unprofessional, lacking the polish and courtesy one expects from a 5-star establishment. The inexperience of the young waitstaff was evident during our a la carte dinner, making us feel like we were an inconvenience. The service was not attentive which was disappointing. Breakfast was another letdown. As vegetarians, we were surprised by the lack of options, with no vegetables available. The fruit selection was limited, and often not replenished when empty. Considering these shortcomings, I would rate this hotel 3 or 4 stars at best. It fails to meet the standards of a 5-star hotel in terms of service, amenities, and overall experience."

We had such a wonderful time at Lux, we decided to extend our stay by a week. The customer service is convivial and professional , the location is excellent. Great access to the Lagoon which is safe (no shark cross the lagoon of corals). The breakfast is plentiful! We received a lot of kind gifts at our arrival.

We did not use the conciergerie but it looks like they charge additional cost for their service that can be prohibitive. Though the food outside breakfast is good, portion are small and you would get a better deal quantity and quality wise outside.

The staff is really cool, friendly and warm. They pay attention to every of your request. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and of course very clean. The TV has a lot of channels. The food is amazing !! Local products, delicious meals and a lots of choices. We recommend choosing breakfast and dinner included, because its worth the price and for dinner they also have concerts at the restaurant. The resort has a lot of activities to do in addition to the beach and snorkelling : tennis, chess, volley, fitness, library.

We were on our honey moon. At the reception while our check-in, they said that one of the dinners (we stayed 5 nights) is offered by the property in occasion of our honey moon, but at the end they made us pay the dinner. Also, the staff were working (cleaning, preparing the pool, the lounge chairs on the beach...) a little bit late in the morning, while we already were willing to do our activities. For example one day we went on the beach at 9am, but the lounge chairs weren't ready, and the staff were still preparing them, or another day I went swimming at 8am, and there was a member of staff in the pool trying to fix something.

Beautiful resort. Great rooms with lots of space and well fitted out. Beds were large and comfortable.. Great breakfast with many options available. Egg and pancake/crepe station, fresh orange juice machine and lots of other options. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great location, direct access to the beach. Biggest and most amazing pool, keep around the edge if you're short and just want to stand around. It's so big that it's actually not really a problem. Just over a 5 minute drive to a supermarket for supplies. Nice to relax at the resort but also had a few alternate places to eat within walking distance..

Wi-Fi sometimes gets spotty especially away from the main reception (don't remember getting overly frustrated though). Had a "do not disturb" one day but went out and came back to find housekeeping still came in. I was a bit confused by that more than anything.. My room was directly facing a tennis court, ideally would have preferred to be able to keep my curtains open and still have privacy if I wished.. Reception does get pretty busy however not a big issue. There was a store and I think a library/book store out the front but couldn't figure the opening hours. Was just walking past rather than it being a destination so didn't follow up/check with reception..

Location is great. Good variety of food and dinner options. Staff was kind and helpful all the time.

The garden areas could be better taken care of. Even if they re clean, they could be well trimmed and look nicer. The glass fence around the pool makes it look like a cheap hotel... doesn't look nice.

Wonderful pool, beautiful beach on the lagoon with plenty of loungers at both. Relaxing atmosphere and very attentive and kind staff. Nothing was too much trouble and service was perfect.

The bathrooms are small for a 5 star hotel and the decor could do with updating. Garden furniture on terrace was basic.

Perfect resort located in front of Indian ocean with private beach. The room I was staying in was spacious. The breakfast is plentiful and served in a beautiful location. The resort was not crowded.

More fresh vegetables could be served at breakfast.

Epic location, right on the beachfront with a lagoon that has loads of fish. Relaxing.

The rooms are a bit dated, the bathroom isn't the biggest for 5 stars, and the kettles / hairdryers are really old. The kettle was mouldy. LUX Belle Mare is a better 5 star experience.
