The location is very nice. You get beautiful views from the rooms as well as the restaurant. The rooms are very tidy and kept in good condition. I even got an upgrade to a bigger room free of charge because there were no other guests there. Nyungwe NP is very close and only a short drive with your own vehicle. The food at the restaurant is tasty and all of the staff are incredibly kind, helpful and just allround attentive and nice. They even had my washing done short notice in the evening before I left. Pascal, the receptionist, is very eager to help you out with anything you ask for.
There is nothing remotely I would have any complaints about :)

The breakfast was OK, although the menu choices were a little limited. Monkeys joined us for lunch one day! The location is great. The view across the valley towards Nyungwe forrest is fantastic, with famer's fields and tea fields in the foreground. Our room was modern and comfortable, although the room could use a couple of chairs. Jane, the resident manager, was outstanding. We had car trouble on the way back beyond from the canopy walk in Nyungwe, and she was beyond helpful! Her english is pretty good, and she served as a translator between us and a mechanic. We had to leave the car parked on the side of the road, but it was right across from some soldier barracks. Jane knew the Major in command of the barracks, and she communicated with him regularly to ensure that the car was safe. We ended up staying a night longer than anticipated, eventually leaving the car there and hiring a driver to take us back to the city, and once again, Jane served as a translator between us and the driver, helping to facilitate our return to the city. While we were there for the additional night, Jane brought in a traditional dance group to provide us with an hour of entertainment. The car breakdown was unfortunate, but it happened right at the end of our journey, and we engaged with some wonderful people as a result!
The room could use a couple of chairs - nowhere to sit but on the bed. The breakfast menu could have more choices, and it would be nice if the wait staff had better English.

Great place to use as a base for Nyungwe activities. The team, especially Albert, are very helpful and attentive and the food was very good. Make sure to try out the optional cultural activities as well. All were excellent and very easy to arrange through the lodge.
The shower had a drainage problem so best to keep showers short but not a huge issue because rooms are serviced daily. Also it was a bit chilly at night.

Beautiful spot overlooking the jungle. has a good enough restaurant and the staff were very accomodating. rooms come with a terrace as well. Just down the hill in a small trading village with a small restuarant. Chimpanzee lodge also makes for a good place to base yourself in the area.

It was a great starting point for tours in Nyungwe, like the canopy walkway and the chimpanzee trekking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful balcony view over the forest.
My only complaint would be about the amount of time (1 hour) you need to wait for your food. But this is something I encountered in most of the hotels in Rwanda, so it's not singled out to the chimpanzee lodge.

The staff is very welcoming. The hotel is very close to the entrance of the national park.
It's overpriced since it's located nearby a road, shampoo is not provided, and hot water is not warranted.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Big walk in shower. Beautiful view from the room's balcony. I made two requests upon check-in that were handled promptly and cheerfully; this is the mark of good service.
The food in the restaurant could be better

Great accommodation. Stunning views. Clean, and the hot water was the best in Rwanda. Each room has it's own water boiler. Much appreciated after a day of hiking. The food was yummy and the staff very hospitable and helpful. I loved the hot water bottles too, a lovely touch.
