Perfect location. Loved our cabin - quiet, cosy and comfortable. Bathroom well supplied. Lodge staff are excellent, particularly Alex - thank you. Best breakfast options & were included in tarrif. Superb meals at dinner. Facilities at Lodge are warm, cosy and friendly, with Nat Parks office adjoining is good. Walks & hikes are easily accessible from here
Cabin would be better if more kitchen/pantry basics were included, esp given the overall price. Cost of cabin per night is extremely high, prohibitive for return trips If plan to use cabin kitchen & prep own meals, take food & drink supplies as there are no supermarkets nearby

AMAZING LOCATION - was greeted by friendly staff and we were upgraded to a nicer cabin (winter off season) right on the water. The cabin was clean and bright and the fire was already on, so we were snug and warm from the first moment we stepped inside. We had the breakfast included in the package and it was superb. We were so lucky to have fresh snow the next morning - a true winter wonderland.
Decor in our room was a bit boring. Nice setting next to the fire, but the mini fridge seemed to be an afterthought sitting on the floor at the base of the bed with a kettle on top. Room needs some proper cabinetry / units to hide away fridge, kettle and make it look less like a student dorm.

Loved the separate cabins and that they were warm, cozy and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable too. Loved having robes and some extra amenities eg loofa and slippers etc… Dinner was good in the restaurant, really nice ambience and large windows, a beautiful setting. I liked the stroll from the cabin to the lodge. Great location, very beautiful.😍🥰
Probably only that when we checked in, Reception and the restaurant manager missed writing our dinner booking in, it was late as that was all they had left, but the double booked. fortunately the restaurant manager Squeezed us in, but I felt that we were rushed because of their mistake. It turned out to be a Lovely meal and the staff were very attentive.

Fantastic location in the national park on the shore of Lake St Clair. Cabins were well equipped and the heater was on when I arrived late in the afternoon which was great. Staff were terrific. Really appreciated the hot breakfast (which was included) after a morning walk in the park in the snow. Was amazing and so beautiful. Will definitely be back.
No Wifi or phone coverage in the cabins but there is some Telstra coverage in the restaurant. Wasn’t a drama - just for people to be aware.

This is a lovely wilderness lodge that is extremely well run and cared for. There was a cold drizzle when we visited so we did not do a hike, but we took a nice walk on the beach. The whole place has a great atmosphere. Michael Croghan, who along with his wife, owns and operates the Lodge is a very pleasant, engaging, and attentive host. I had a taste of his own rum Trapper & Miggins "Croghan Rum". Delicious! I bought a bottle to take home to Canada and enjoy there. We had the full Irish breakfast which was included in the price of our room. It was delicious, and perfectly done to order. We also had our dinner there and it was wonderful as well. The rooms (cabins) and the Lodge itself are clean, cozy, and very comfortable. When we got checked in the cabin was lovely and warm awaiting for our arrival. Overall, we would give the Lodge a 10 out of 10. If we had known how nice it was, we would not just have planned on a one night stay. Thank you Michael, and your staff, for your terrific hospitality. It was a pleasure to stay with you. Gordon and Barb Campbell, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Our visit would have been even better if we had arrived on a sunny day.

We loved everything about this lodge from the time we checked in until we checked out and all in between. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our cabin was beautifully appointed, very clean and comfortable. The meals at the Lodge were all really lovely. This was our fifth visit to this lodge and we have never been disappointed. We will continue to return to the lodge in the future and encourage our friends to do the same.
There wasn’t anything we did not like about this lodge.

I stayed in a lovely cabin right on Lake St Clair which was stunning. When I arrived it was dark but the lights and heating were on in my cabin which made it really welcoming. I liked that you could leave your dirty shoes in a small mud room before entering your actual cabin. The room was large with a kitchen and a generous bathroom and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was included in my booking. There is a small jetty where you can look over the lake and see Mount Olympus covered in snow and the old Pumphouse Point in the distance. It's a really beautiful location.

Stunning location. The lodge, visitor centre and restaurant so well run and the food was excellent. The best thing was the staff. From Michael down to all his support staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Alex for making checking in a breeze and to Clinton (ferry skipper) for his informative commentary and warm and friendly personality. The lake cruise was a highlight.

Virtually everything was perfect. Outside air was cold, but the room had been warmed up before we arrived. Very friendly staff at reception and in the dining areas. Restaurant meals were excellent and well presented. Would love to return sometime.
It was quite expensive. I had booked a cabin with a lake view, but our room really just had a lake glimpse. The cabin was about 500 metres from the tavern/dining room. It was a fair distance for us to walk after dark as we are both over 70.

All staff lodge were abundantly welcoming and accommodating all reasonable requests. It’s great to have good well priced food easily accessible. The cabins are clean, well maintained, don’t worry about getting cold-the heaters are amazing. Then you go outside, this is the best kept secret in Tasmania. We wish this lodge all the best because we will be back. And…the visitors centre is right next door. Both the lodge and visitors have all the gifts to take home. Thanks everyone for making our short stay amazing. John & S.
Our stay provide grants wasn’t long enough!! The government should provide small grants to support marketing and development Maybe a few canoes/kayaks, night star viewing via telescope, etc.
