The Logis Auberge du Relay Hotel was in a perfect location for our needs, halfway between Orthez and Sallies de Bearn on the main road between the two. We had a room on the back and there was no vehicle noise from the road although it might not be the same for a room on the front. The room was smaller than average but there was a large balcony with chairs and a table which would be an asset had the weather been better for this stay. Overall the room was comfortable and well equipped for our needs. The church clock in the village chimes every hour, but it is far enough away from the property that it is not intrusive and, for us, added some rural charm to our stay. On this visit we didn’t eat at the property, but we have eaten there before and always been impressed by the quality of food. There is plenty of off street parking. We have no hesitation in recommending this charming family run location which we have been visiting since 1990.

The room could have been a little bigger.

A lot, a nice older house well maintained, 5 minutes walk to the busy centre, large comfortable room with a canopied bed and big tub. The host gave us 2 beers when we asked and didn’t charge us - which was kind. Breakfast was modest but nicely presented. We left my husband’s jacket there and she held it until we could back that way a few days later . Very good communication on that front which was appreciated. Room was a very good value for what we paid. Good bicycle parking in the garage.

There are stairs to the rooms - it is no problem for us but that is difficult for some people. There was a very faint smoke odor on the landing; I didn’t notice it until my husband mentioned it. No odor in the rooms though. If you are sensitive to smoke it might bother you.

The room was lovelly. Modern , clean, comfortable with kettle and complementary bottle of water. The breakfast was very good and enjoyable. The lady in the morning was very nice.

Any other day but Sunday would have been perfect. The day before arrival we got a message saying the restaurant is closed on a Sunday and recommended a restaurant 10 mins drive away. We arrived at 6.30 pm in November, it was after dark. The hotel had no lights on at all and we initially thought it had closed down, there was no one around. We eventually found a notice providing room instructions. Inside the movement activated lighting was poor which meant walking around in the dark in some places of the hotel. The restaurant was a big reason for booking if the Sunday rule had been seen in the hotel info we would not have booked. The breakfast was very nice but 11 euros is a bit strong.

We wanted a stopover on our way to Bilbao ferry port. Found the hotel not far off the motorway. The staff were friendly and helpful the room for a stopover was clean and comfortable. The evening meal was three course for E19 each and with fresh cooked ingredients was very good and great value. Would recommend

we’ve had a quadruple room, the air-conditioning blew right on the upper bed. It was very cold there. When you switch it off It’s suffocating and really stuffy. When you open the window and the balcony door - all mosquitoes are yours. So despite the comfortable bedding, we couldn’t sleep really well

Quirky character, slightly off the beaten track, Parking was good, in summer the pool would be a nice bonus, but does need some updating around the pool and leisure area.

Because if the lower footfall of customers at that time, the staffing was a bit stretched at times especially in the bar and food service

A really good night stopover, enroute to the Atlantic coast, from the Med. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The evening meal was a bonus to the stay and breakfast was excellent. Swimming pool was fantastic and bike storage (I love that)! 😊

Staff were very friendly and the set meal was very good. Breakfast was fine. We also tried the pool which was very refreshing. Parking was very easy. Room had a nice terrace looking out over the fields to the church

Nothing of any significance. The dining area was a bit chilly possibly the result of very different temperatures during the day and the night

The room was small but clean and had everything you need for a short stay. We appreciated the balcony.

Unfortunately there was a very bad smell coming from the bathroom. Overall a little expensive considering the location and the surroundings.

Comfortable room with good air con.great bathroom. Fabulous swimming pool and garden ❤️ Absolutely amazing restaurant.

No Gluten free bread for breakfast. Only rice cakes not great with boiled eggs.
