The music coming out of the bar was far too loud Inappropriate ( American rap, club ) De Foret is in a forest setting, we would have preferred to listen to nature on our balcony. Gecko,s ,frogs,birds .

Awesome place, huge rooms, delicious food and friendly staff made it an amazing experience. The property is simply stunning. And the food is among the best anywhere I’ve had. Chef Rajat takes special care of the guests’ tastes and preferences. The breakfast is lovely with a wide choice for vegetarians too. Every meal was memorable and a special mention for the walnut pie, which the chef recommended as a vegetarian dessert option. Packed one for the return trip. Tandoori dishes, Chinese, or the chef’s choice of lobster, were simply delicious. Restaurant staff also deserve a special mention for the attention they pay to the guests. Highlight of our Andaman trip.

My father and I spent two nights at the charming and cozy De Foret resort. Location De Foret is situated on the western side of Swaraj Dweep Island (also known as Havlock Island), approximately 3 kilometers from the picturesque Radhanagar Beach. This beach, one of the few Blue Flag beaches in India, is renowned for its stunning beauty. The resort is nestled atop a small hill, almost concealed within the lush greenery. It’s conveniently located near Elephant Beach, which is about 2.5 kilometers away. This scenic route to Elephant Beach is accessible via a mildly challenging hiking trail. However, it’s essential to exercise caution when attempting this trail during or after heavy rains. The path becomes extremely muddy and treacherous due to the tree roots. The Experience We arrived at De Foret around 11:30 am and were promptly greeted with refreshing welcome drinks. The check-in process was swift, and we soon found ourselves in our beautifully appointed room. The resort’s structures are meticulously crafted from wood, seamlessly blending with the surrounding forest. De Foret boasts its own restaurant and bar, conveniently located next to a well-maintained swimming pool. The facilities in our room were adequate. We were provided with a 2-liter bottle of water and an ample supply of tea, coffee, milk, and other essentials. The room also featured a mini bar stocked with a limited selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The bathroom was spacious and well-stocked with toiletries. The hotel’s policy requires guests to inform the reception if they require any changes or want their room cleaned. For instance, during our second day of stay, we requested the replenishment of tea bags and water, and the request was promptly fulfilled. We opted not to bother with room cleaning as it was already in good condition. I appreciate this approach. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel’s fast and reliable free WiFi.

Ideal location, beautiful setting and great room. The staff were helpful, friendly & polite. Housekeeping were particularly helpful & the room cleaned & linen etc changed daily. The food was very good, compliments to the Executive Chef. A great stay, would strongly recommend..

The room had only one large (king size) bed and we would have liked twin beds. This seems to be common in many hotels in India.

Location was good. Enjoyed the pool breakfast but was a very high charge noting that breakfast was included in our stay. Pool was very beautiful n clean. Loved it. Food was good and service was very good.

Stairways dangerous for seniors. Flooring boards outside dining room need to be attended to. Lighting in the rooms need to be improved. Too dark even with lights on. Had to request for lotion n toilet roll and replacement for tea and coffee. These have to be attended to for better rating. Towels need to be checked before handing to patrons. No beach towel was available. Was given a terribly stained towel which looked like blood. It wasn't a beach nor a pool towel. Very disappointing. Chalet appearance need to be improved. Beautify surrounding with pretty gardens outside the chalet.

The staff makes the place worth it... super nice, comforting and helpful. The location is far enough from the jetty/market, but a rickshaw or cab is available at request. The restaurent serves AMAZING food! A walk away from Radhanagar beach, and a bus ride away from the main market/beach. I'd say just book the place, dont think twice.

The breakfast could have been a little more elaborate! A desperate need for a good coffee machine is felt :) However, for all problems, the team helps out, so no complaints as such.

De Foret is one of the best experience of life, the location and the resort is an amazing place to stay, highly recommended to all the people visiting Havelock. The Meghalaya origin staff was too good especially Eva and Phila. We were not only made very comfortable but also made to feel at home. The bar tender makes amazing drinks and ensures that it is to our expectations... Starting from reception checkin to checkout was a five star experience. Don't miss to stay at this resort

The property is lovely. It's quiet and in a remote part of the island. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The shower was a delight!

The mattress is a bit bouncy. They sometimes play loud music between 8-9pm which is a little out of sync with the peaceful nature of the property. The breakfast was decent but not exceptional.
