Many pluses. A short, pleasant walk from the Bandai Atami station (I chose not to take the shuttle), so that sight-seeing trips over my stay were easy. Dinner and breakfast each day were outstanding - each a memorable meal in itself. My room was spacious, with tatami floors and beds. The view across to the hills was pleasing (although the local trainline passes close to the ryokan). The o-yu (bath) facilities were delightful - two different baths, each also with separate outside baths. I made use of these mornings and evenings. And I savored an hour in the private o-yu downstairs. Staff were engaging, charming and helpful. I look forward to the chance to be back.

- Breakfast was so delicious and filling. - Using the onsen for a couple hours after checkout since our train to Tokyo wasn’t until the afternoon - Comfy, elegant rooms and robes provided

- We weren’t expecting to have to pay extra for sake (250 yen per glass) but that’s okay

Location was fantastic - close to train station, beautiful Sakura (cherry blossoms) nearby, hotel facilities were fantastic, and staff always went above and beyond to help with way-finding and itinerary planning. Highly recommend.

Room with private hot spring was incredible. Breakfast was delicious. Location is good for train travellers, just pay attention to the schedule of the local train.

Common areas were a bit cluttered and unpolished

The Ryokan was remote and yet with very easy access to a nearby train station and a convenience store. Service was impeccable.

Nothing.

Breakfast was a traditional Japanese style, there are bread and butter also available for those who preferred a lighter option. The onsen was also very relaxing.

Very friendly atmosphere, relaxed and quiet.

My room 300 had a very loud noise from a ventilator or similar.

A gem, friendly staff, gourmet food, very close to train station, very cozy & comfy room.

Some maintenance should be done in the onsen (bath) area.
