The location was great, and we did a lot of lovely hikes from there. We were fairly close to Ned's Beach which is beautiful, and when we walked into the water, fish immediately surrounded us. This was a very cool experience. You can purchase fish pellets for $4 from local shops. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable. We had brought most of our food with us, so could cook, and that saved us quite a bit of money. We had heard it was expensive to eat out, and that proved true on the one night we bought dinner at The Anchorage. We found a good range of programs to watch on TV at night. Paul at Beachcomber looked after us very well. He picked us up and dropped us off at the airport and offered to drive us to restaurants too. However, we had brought head torches, so could easily walk home. The night sky was full of stars. We occasionally shopped at Joy's Shop which was well stocked with snacks and groceries.
The freezer in the fridge kept things cold, but not frozen. There were no microwave dishes for cooking, but we were able to use the pots provided.

The fact that this is a very historical lodge, small and family owned and operated is what we wanted. A varied age group and variety of nationalities staying made for good conversations in passing. Breakfast no longer available as the rooms are all self contained with small kitchenettes. Space was very roomy for the two of us and a nice tranquil location. Paul the Manager was very helpful and we loved the fact that he would drive guests in the evening to any pre-booked restaurant for dinner. Wonderful inclusion. The surrounding tropical gardens were lovely and the verandah was very attractive with colourful cushions and potted ferns outside the rooms.

Clean and well appointed, in line with reasonable expectations for the price. Paul is the main reason we will return there as a priority, service and kindness like that is rare. Have stayed at other lodges and it did not exist at those places.
Sorry you don't serve any food at all, would have been nice to have breakfast or eat dinner in. Also suggest you invest in some electric bikes for guests, say two/room and charge for them, we would have been pleased to rent them. Bed was two tired singles pushed together, might want to look at that too.

The service by Paul was exceptional. We had a ball and Paul made it fantastic. Paul is a gem to this business.
Loved it all, except the pretend rudeness of the staff who never gave us our meals at the bowling club. except the chef who cooked great food and drove us home. We arrived at 6.30pm we had a booking. There was no table no problem, but our meal arrived at 8.45 pm after 6.30pm order. All locals were served, including dessert and went home. We felt unwanted. It was awful except the chef. I will always tell all my friends to never go to the bowling club it is clearly the message for tourists.

Lovely relaxed environment. Very clean and quiet. Enough space in 2 bedroom cottage, comfortable beds and lovely bathroom. Private sunny verandah with clear bbq. Food scraps bin and recycling bin all very thoughtful. Lovely gardens and trees, lovely old buildings and atmosphere. Paul, caretaker and manager, went above and beyond . He was always very attentive, organised and so helpful, giving us lifts to evening meals in the village and assisting in any way to make our stay comfortable and safe. He was delightful. Thank you Paul.
Kitchen equipment was very basic. Could have done with a few more utensils. But when we asked for more washing up equipment it was quickly supplied. I’m not sure that the staff have very comfortable accomodation themselves.

Location is great just a short walk to beach and the main part of the town. Had everything you needed for a beach holiday the outdoor verandah was nice for chilling out on. Friendly staff met us at airport and took us on a tour of island. Paul also happily dropped us off at restaurant for dinner and was accomodating for anything we needed.
Fairly basic for the price but that is what you expect on Lord Howe Island as everything is quite expensive

A very nice apartment style hotel. Our room 1 was superior to some others as it was on the end of the building and thus had external windows in every one of the 4 rooms. Internal apartments would lack a window in every room. If you plan to cook these are well equipped. There is no coffee machine and just instant coffee but we went into town for coffee.
Beachcomber really should restart their restaurant at least for breakfast. It is a decent walk to town - maybe 10-15 min all downhill one way and uphill the return so we rode bicycles but had to walk them up the hill on the return as it is a steep hill.

Beachcomber is a great place from which to access the town and hikes. Paul was so helpful in giving advice and lifts to anywhere we needed to go. There are good cooking facilities in the room to give you the option of saving some money, but also great restaurants a 10 min walk or quick bike ride away. The Lodge was very quiet in a beautiful setting, it felt like noone else was staying there.

Lovely located walking distance to restaurants, beach, etc. Love the airport pickup, Paul provided a quick drive around the places in the island. Room is spacious, a full functioned kitchen is god send as I have special dietary requirements. Bed is comfortable, wifi is stable. I loved every moment there, and only if I could stay for more days! What a piece of paradise!
