It was my first ever trip To Nagaland, I landed up straight at Akim homestay from Dimapur airport. On my first day I could not meet any of the hosts so I felt a bit anxious because I wanted some information to travel further. I just thought I will wait for the next day and see how it works out. Next morning I met Chris and that was the beginning of my wonderful trip to Nagaland. The Homestay is a very beautiful building, done up very tastefully and spotlessly clean. The owners are so pleasant, always willing to help, answer any queries and they have a very personal and caring approach when interacting with their guests. I saw one of the most beautiful sunrise from the front yard of the cottage. Although the homestay is a bit far from the town but this was not a problem at all, the hosts went out of their way to arrange for transport, and yes, the quiet and beautiful sitting area in front, made up for being a bit far from all the hustle and bustle. The food was fresh and delicious. I had a wonderful stay here and it was a pleasure meeting the family and I would definitely choose to stay at Akim homestay on my next trip to Nagaland.

The location of Akim homestay is excellent overlooking the Kohima hills. The homestay is part of a bunglow that Thejasevi, the host stays in. It is a serene place to stay close to the nature as the property is surrounded by greenery all sides and has a garden where different flowers are grown. I ended up staying for a month there since I loved the place and the amenities. I became good friends with Thejasevi who took me around Kohima and ensured I had a great time. Mercy, the staff is a wonderful person. Always available on a short notice and cooks great food.

Lovely large room. Quiet location. A good distance from center but we love to walk.

Might have been language barrier but felt more like an aloof hotel than what I expect from a homestay.

Everything abt the place was just perfect. The food was authentic. The staff was very helpful 🙂

There was no electricity the entire night.

The location, the facilities, cleanliness and above all the amazing hospitality of the host Mr. Ketu. Mercy who works there is also great in terms of taking care of the of the guests by preparing delicious meals.

Akim homestay is the best accomodation in Kohima. Not only the home stay has beautiful views of city, spacious rooms but the owner & staff make it extra special. The personal attention we got for travel, food etc was exceptional. Spent quality time with the family knowing Naga culture, politics, sports etc. Highly recommended. There are no restaurants nearby so you are dependent on the homestay menu- which serves basic indian, Chinese, naga cuisine.

We had a fantastic time staying at this property. The family members and the house help go beyond their duty to serve you and make you comfortable. The host Teja and his father helped us in every possible way to make our trip memorable. The property is huge and beautifully surrounded by lovely flowers. There is ample parking space.
