Love everything about this place! Make sure if you're using the free airport shuttle, you check the times it runs before you book your flight! Darren added my WeChat before I arrived and was able to help answer all of my questions and concerns in English. I've stayed here twice now, wonderful Hainan getaway right on the beach and feels good!

Firstly, I want to thank Darren, the concierge manager of the hotel. He contacted us before arrival, offered a free transfer from the airport, also he did free room upgrade, gave us some useful tips and after check out he offered a free bus to Haitong area, where we could take a taxi to another destination. In short , he just saved our time and money in this trip. Very professional staff 👍🏼 additionally, we are very satisfied and appreciate your compliments ! ( we’ve got the bottle of Chile wine and fruits on our first day) The room was really good,we had an ocean view with a big balcony and balcony bathtub. Bright and clean room, I even found a yoga mat there ! The breakfast was nice(Chinese and western cuisine). The hotel has two big swimming pools. You have to wear a swimming hat if you want to use indoor pool, but you don’t need to do it if you want to stay at the outdoor pool. Most of the time We’ve spent at the beach. The beach was good and clean , pure ocean water with Mountain View. Best option for those who are tired of urban and busy life.

Westin totally satisfied with Westin hotel. Outside the hotel you can find some restaurants (10 min walking distance), but only Chinese food

Quality of services ; they really take care of you

The ocean view room was awesome! Nice bed and shower, big balcony and TV with western options. The breakfast was also very good! The staff was very helpful (specially a employee named Icy). Me and my husband did massage in the hotel Spa and it was amazing. Definitely worth it!

It’s not allowed to swim in front of the hotel, so a short walk is necessary for those who want to do.

Breakfast was very good, the room was nice and comfortable. As we went in December the air temperature was already low 17-24°C such that the outside pools were a bit cold maybe 22-23°C. We brought cheap Decathlon wetsuits for the children which made up for it. The ocean offers a lot of surf during winter months (which is why I came in the first place). There is a surf school offering courses for beginners. Ocean is as well fit for children but you have to leave the hotel beach and walk down about ~1km around the corner to go into the water as otherwise the lifeguards won't let you and as a lot of sand directly in front of the Westin has been washed away (Dec. 2020) leaving a very steep beach and "close out" surfing conditions.

Dinner food in main restaurants was a bit one sided with small and expensive portions. I Recommend to eat outside for dinner there are good Chinese restaurants in the vincinity.

The size of room

Inability to communicate. Just so hard to communicate if you don’t speak Chinese. No enough information if you don’t understand Chinese.

the service was just horrendous. 1. I was waiting for the room to be ready for more than 30 minutes,(it was after 2pm) 2. one guy at the surfing centre was just awful. So i went there to rent a surfing board and this guy obviously wanted to sell courses to me. I told him no and just need board, he was very rude and asked me to show him a video of me surfing as a proof?? i had to tell him hey i was here the day before and had already rented once and he can check their record. 3. Took forever to get a drink at the bar in the lobby, and the second drink we ordered didn't even come. 4. bad breakfast, overcooked pasta
