I loved my stay at The Ranch. It was perfect for my visit to Death Valley NP, lots of amenities, friendly staff, great room. And lots of amenities.
The price of the room was pretty high for what it was and the quality of food options wasn't great for such a highly priced room.

I liked the surroundings, amenities, my room and most of the staff. The General Store has great healthy selections for any meal.
I came for a quiet retreat and found myself right within earshot of the loudest HVAC unit on the property - building 700. Is it in need of maintenance? The lovely balcony, one of my favorite places to hang out and read, was unusable. This can happen I know, but I walked all the room types over my 4 days and nowhere is that loud. No problem, right? Request a room change. The manager refused my request to move to a quieter room TWO days in a row. I gave up and can’t recommend The Ranch to anyone.

Liked having all the food and shop options at site. Museum was neat too.
The maid knocked on door at 8am, then 8:30, 8:45, on day of checkout when we were trying to leave at 8 am. I don’t think 9am is a late checkout. Very annoying.

*It was very conveniently located to all the attractions for Death Valley. * The staff at check in are professional and very informative. Also avail 24/7. Very nice touch. * Convenient to have eating options and general store so close by esp if you are tired after a big day of exploring. * WiFi worked really well.
*The rooms are a bit old and walls are paper thin so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. * Restaurants are pricey for so so food, but the staff are really lovely and it’s so convenient to have these food options on site. No take out for breakfast buffet which would be nice if you want to eat with a Death Valley view. *Huge line at check in. Need more staff. *Refrigerator does not have a freezer component if you have ice packs etc. * This is not hotel’s fault but wish I had more time to try out the mineral pool which is supposed to be 85F. **I would stay here again.**

location great .... there are not really options in this area Beautifully landscaped, well planned Easy access for driving to park sites
general store pick up food/drink options limited and very $$ (example: simple "gas station type" egg salad sandwich $12) Understand that this is remote and all has to be transported a distance but for a resort of this caliber I think they can do better. Being in such a wonderful National Park we expected some emphasis on environmental and nature i.e. Dark Sky programs, health/fitness - outdoor options etc. There is a privately run riding stable for tours but information is not easily available - only by phone, nothing in writing. Tried several times to book but not able to connect.

– The location inside Death Valley National Park was perfect for stargazing and sunrise watching – no long drives needed! – The resort is a hidden gem right in the desert, surrounded by palm trees and green grass – surprisingly lush and luxurious. – Late-night arrival (after midnight) was smooth – check-in was easy, and the receptionist provided a map and clear directions. – The automated system for check-in, check-out, and information was modern and convenient. – We were likely upgraded from a Standard Queen Room to a Cottage with a King bed – a huge thank you! – The Cottage was amazing – it had two separate suites, each with a private entrance, and we had the whole place to ourselves. – Our suite had a living room and bedroom, air conditioning (not too noisy), and ceiling fans in both rooms. – We had a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker – and even a combined washing machine and tumble dryer, which was above American hotel standard! – USB and USB-C ports were built into the bedside tables – a great modern touch. – The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and nicely decorated. – The resort grounds were beautifully lit at night, making the whole place look magical. – There was a private patio with chairs and a table (although it was too hot to use during our stay). – The Borax Museum on site is definitely worth a visit – very interesting and well-maintained.
There were two things that were a bit confusing. – It seemed like cars weren’t allowed to drive up to the cottages, so we had to unload everything in the parking lot and carry it ourselves. A bit inconvenient, especially in the heat. – Booking.com says check-in is until 10 p.m., but the reception is open 24/7. Our delayed flight made us nervous, and Samsung Smart Call even showed I was calling the fire department not hotel number! Luckily, the receptionist confirmed we could arrive after midnight, and everything worked out fine.

The location was amazing. Most national parks require a daily drive from lodging into the park. The Ranch was located directly in the heart of the park! Want to go to the visitors center? 1 minute drive. Need gas? 1 minute drive. Want to watch the sunrise from Zebriskie Point? Maybe 10 minute drive. It was excellent!
We were pretty disappointed that the pool and the playground were both closed. We were told we could use the pool at The Inn so, in order to fulfill our promise to our three kids that we would swim (because is vacation actually a vacation without swimming in a pool?) they wore their swimsuits to dinner, we drove over to the inn and wandered around until we found it… and there was no water in their pool either. Seriously sad kids.

We loved the location of the Ranch. Very close to many destinations within Death Valley that was very convenient. The property looked appealing and was pretty with many restaurants close by. The room was very clean and the AC unit worked great! The beds were comfortable. The staff were amazing the best customer service we have ever experienced !
We didn’t like the lack of signage to find the hotel at first or where check in was. That was confusing. Also we were in the 2nd flood in the ranch and weren’t aware there wouldn’t be an elevator and we had a lot of luggage which was inconvenient/and we were never asked if we could do stairs. We could and it was fine but it was unexpected.

Great location and lovely resort oasis in death valley. Most of the staff were excellent, especially in the bar in the evening and at the golf club. One exception was older man in the buffet breakfast in morning who was incredibly rude for no reason.
Rudeness of man at cashier at breakfast buffet in morning, so unpleasant. Really didn’t appreciate having cleaning staff knock on our bedroom door several times in the morning meaning none of us got a proper sleep. No do not disturb sign available and really we were checking out that day so don’t understand why they wanted to get into the room anyway. These two issues spoiled what would have been an excellent stay otherwise.
