This was a stopover hotel for my long distance ride from wakkanai to Shiretoko. Lots of parking right in front of hotel. Breakfast spread was reasonably good and the setting was cozy and like being in a family runned restaurant, the service team was excellent both at restaurant and at reception. The decor and furnishing are rather dated, breakfast coupons in laminated cards were issued and facts sheets were paper copy, i am ok as everything is still functional. There is an onsen in the hotel but didn't have time to use. Location wise is good if you drive and several restaurants closeby. We had dinner at a good Italian restaurant reasonably priced.

The toilet and shower cubicle was super tiny and required to launch a high step to get inside. I have knee arthritis and this was a chore getting in and out of the toilet. There was hardly any place to put your own Toiletries bag and i couldn'tfigureout what is the need of having a half size bathtub in a tiny space.. I have long legs and had to sit slanted when I used the toilet seat. The floors of the hotel were carpeted which made it hard to move luggage on wheels and I personally find carpet dusty and high maintenance. There isn't much luggage space for 2 persons,had to shift the sitting chairs aside to make room. For some reason, the doors to the toilet and closets are metal.

At first the hotel looked too dark and kind of old. But actually everything was very comfortable. The onsen was beautiful, especially the outside one. Considering it was just a stop on my long journey from east to west of Japan, I had an unexpected good stay. I would come back for a more deep experience of Monbetsu, especially in winter.

Onsen - while not exactly spacious, it was adequate for the smaller crowd and there is a small outdoor area where one can see the starry skies while soaking. Front-desk service - very good service from staff despite not being conversant in English, they gave food recommendations and even helped to make phone calls for dinner reservation to ensure that things go smoothly during our short stay there. Parking - conveniently located right in front of the hotel, but do note that the tour buses also share the same parking area.

The rooms were a little small and can be a tight squeeze for more than 2 suitcases.

Yukata was comfortable and room was clean and cosy. Convenience store and drugstore were nearby.

Cat park was rather limited and have to park further away. No bottled water provided. City tax was also charged :(

The onsen is fabulous, it has a sauna and a cold bath too. In general the hotel is pleasant and doesn't provide kitchen but does provide micro mave, ice, water.

The family room was a bit small for 4 with luggage but ok for one room.

Comfortable, but nothing flash. Had everything we needed.

We didn't leave our room to go out for dinner until 7pm. All the restaurants were full or wouldn't take any more customers! Recommend heading out for dinner at 5.30pm-6pm! The drift ice had unfortunately mostly disappeared (18th Feb 24).

The room was spacious and clean , bed was comfortable, the public hot spring was nice, free car parking was convenient, just in front of the hotel, hotel staffs are friendly.

A clean, comfortable hotel in an area near the sea. Staff were helpful in finding somewhere to eat in the evening.

Nothing to do with the hotel as such, but the seagulls woke us up 🤣

Good location, good restaurants nearby. Excellent breakfast with lots of variety and good quality food
